By grace not by race, fascinating concept

Oh, I had to grit my teeth through parts of that. Yes, salvation is by grace to all who believe, but in the typical fashion of church doctrines (particularly Presbyterian, from whence I came), he completely ignores the context of the citations Paul makes from the Torah and the prophets.

I need to ask him a few questions....

- Why does Paul cite Hosea 1?
- Who is the New Covenant with?
- Why do the disciples in Acts 1 expect the restoration of Israel?
- Why does Jesus send them specifically to Jerusalem and Samaria? Judea and the uttermost parts of the earth?

I could go on, but suffice it to say, Peter tells us Paul is hard to understand because we don't know the scriptures.

Yes, salvation is by grace, but the redemption isn't about God abandoning Israel and creating some new entity wholly disconnected from physical restoration in the Land. Too many prophecies yet to fulfill to have 'not one letter fall until all is accomplished. '

I think that an awful lot gets extrapolated from Paul’s writings that he would be aghast about.

What if Israel is synonymous with faith not entitlement? Is God able to raise the bar or make a transition? We usually feel more comfortable with phisical interpretations. When Christ decided to tell his followers to eat and drink of him, He knew many woul drop out and think he was crazy. Why are there so many denominations if we all believe in the same God? Do we all make our own interpretations of God according to our hearts? Did he say flesh and blood can not inherit the kingdom of God ?
People choose, this is why we are here.
What is having many denominations telling us?

One of the religious leaders in the temple had good wisdom.. he said " but if it be of God, you cannot overthrow it; lest haply you be found even to fight against God."
That was deep wisdom.
Time will show right?
