Coming Out to Family and Friends.....

The reaction you witnessed from those around you, such as your father, is a common physiological response when a new, yet perceived to be abnormal, idea is first presented.

Furthermore, cultural stigmas attached to the idea of a multi-woman covenant union can shock and even overload the actual neurological system as it currently stands if preliminary steps of altering or adding new peripheral cords to the brain's systemic functionality are not first initiated.

In short, though it was and is painful for you to see and feel the way your father reacted it was also and is likely a real painful experience to his actual mind/brain because his mind/brain was short-circuited so to speak.

This article viewtopic.php?f=57&t=1980 explains some of what likely has taken place in him.

Of course knowing this does not automatically change the condition you are in, but for future reference this can help you as you contemplate ways in which to incrementally prepare him or anyone else towards the topic itself. Literally the brain has to actually create new cords & pathways before the idea can even reasonably at first be recognized as a real option and then secondly tolerated. The third step is even harder as that would be assimilation towards personal acceptance. Each step requires more and more development of the spirit/mind/brain system and such processes as this take time and rarely if ever occur quickly.
