Doesn't someplace in Timothy talk about perversions of marriage as a Doctrine of Demons?
The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons (doctrines of demons -- KJV). Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. They forbid people to marry ... -- 1 Timothy 4:1-3 NIV

Wait a minute! The "doctrine of devils" involves restricting marriage. Telling people NOT to marry.

Interesting! Now let's look for modifying clauses, to be sure we get it exactly right! :geek:

"They forbid people to marry at all, demanding celibacy." Well, no. Doesn't say that. That would be included in "forbidding to marry", but it doesn't restrict the "doctrine of devils" to ONLY that version.

"They forbid people to marry more than one wife." Well, no. Can't find that one either.

In fact, I can't find ANY modifier at all. So, unless God has somehow restricted the specific relationship elsewhere, eg. a woman and her mother, man & beast, believer with unbeliever, etc., I guess that we are left with ...

ANY RESTRICTION UPON A BIBLICALLY ACCEPTABLE MARRIAGE, whether requiring celibacy or monogamy, WOULD SEEM TO BE A DOCTRINE OF DEVILS !!!
