Gog-Magog on the horizon.

It's clear things are heating up and we're moving towards "interesting times". It's a lot less clear who Gog and Magog might be, or other players, and there are a number of completely opposite schools of thought on this. But regardless of who is who, things are going to get interesting in uncomfortable ways in the near future.

I am kinda partial to swords that eject lead.
Yeshua didn’t give us any strict definitions, but swords were the most common military weapon in that day and I see no reason to not have the equivalent today.

What is the context in which Jesus said that?
There is a lot to unpack and it's actually a large part of something else I'm working on so maybe I'll start a new thread to deal with this and not derail this one. I'll tease you with this though, did Jesus not know that His disciples were carrying swords? This is an extremely important topic for our times and especially for our children's times (unfortunately) so I am looking forward to crossing swords with all of you on this issue.

It may also be simultaneously true that "all who draw the sword will die by the sword", nevertheless you should still "sell your cloak and buy a sword".

Either statement may be taken in isolation to prove a point to either extreme (either pacifism or military preparedness). But put the two together and you get something even more profound, scary, realistic (sadly), and requiring a whole lot more faith.
