Ohio Retreat - Labor Day Weekend

Joe

New Member
My wife and I have been talking about hosting a retreat at our house on Labor Day weekend (Sept. 4-6). After seeing the responses from people interested in the Aug. 16 "very mini-retreat" in Dayton, we are thinking we should go ahead with plans to have a weekend retreat, also.

Details will be forthcoming, but it will probably be a mostly informal get-together with a lot of time to get to know other like-minded believers. We will probably have an informal gathering Friday evening and worship, discussion times, and food (of course!) on Saturday and Sunday, and maybe another informal get-together on Monday for anyone that can stay over. We are located in south-central Ohio (just south of Chillicothe), right next to a large state forest with hiking trails (and camping, if anyone's interested).

If interested, you can email me at geojoe44@gmail.com for more details.

Here is some motel info for the retreat - anyone interested in coming might want to book lodging ASAP - there's a big event in Chillicothe that weekend (Easyriders national motorcycle rodeo) and Chillicothe motels will fill up early (if not already).

If anyone else is considering coming for the Labor Day retreat (next weekend!) that has not emailed me yet, let me know as we finalize plans. Right now, it looks like it will probably be a smaller group of us that will be getting together, but every time we've gotten together with others has been a blessing.

Again, you can email me at geojoe44@gmail.com and I can send you more specific directions, etc.

Thanks,
Joe

Joe, I will be sure to mention it on the radio show tomorrow night, too.

Blessings,

Doc

Hello Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Labor Day has come and gone, and so has the Labor Day Retreat out in Ohio. Would love to hear the details, and any testimonies from families that we're able to attend. :) We would've liked to have been able to make it out, but so far it just hasn't been in God's timing for us to have the means to attend. If another one may ever be planned in the future, that won't fall on a holiday weekend we'd like to try to make it out. :) Thanks to all who stepped out in faith to organize and put this retreat together to help share the Full Gospel Truth, reaching out to and encouraging other like minded Christians! :D

Sorry it's taken me a few days to post an update after the retreat-- it's been a busy week.

The Labor Day Retreat went well. Several families that wanted to come were unable to for various reasons, so we ended up with a small, informal get-together. However, we did have a "first" for Biblical Families - we had a marriage ceremony of people who met through Biblical Families! :)

Besides the marriage ceremony, there was a cook-out, bonfire, some worship time with guitar, lots of time to talk and get to know each other, and some great food (thanks to my wonderful wife!). The kids definitely had a blast, too. :) We were blessed by the fellowship and felt very privileged to witness the marriage ceremony.
