Polygamy in Northern Malawi. A Christian Reassessment

Based on the book's description, I think what's being "reassessed" by the author is not whether polygamy ought to be condemned but how best to stamp it out, since refusing baptism to polygamists hasn't been doing the job.

Actually, my impression was that while the author did not want to take on the establishment about the basic practice, he did argue for lessor consequences. He was arguing that the fix (separating families and creating homeless) is a greater evil than the reality of polygamy. Of course, one would have to read the book to know for sure.
