Hello all! I'm Scarlet, chiming in from East Texas.
There's not much about me to tell. I am by my own confession a little bit of a ditz, but that's never kept me from being a good helpmeet, lol. I'm a second wife. Since I'm not certified by marriage license, which is the closest modern analog to a ketubah, I guess that would make me a concubine. My husband and his first wife aren't here since they both work VERY public jobs (he's a pastor in fact) and they don't want the attention. My husband was hesitant about letting me join this site, since the site has a... let's say "colorful" reputation, even among believers who do acknowledge God's blessing upon plural marriage. But he allowed it, cautiously.

I'm here more to snoop and lurk than to be heard, but I'll throw in my two cents from time to time.

Welcome! Your husband's caution is understandable. We live in a very small town and are accepted by the good people that don't attend churches, ignored for the most part by other believers.
The local pastor here (where we have mever attended) seemed to want to confront my husband about his other lady.....but lacked something. He never brought ut up....but spoke against it across the street with other locals.

Anyway...

Hope you enjoy being here. Oh, by the way. My hubby and I agreed NOT to make the state a 3rd party to our marriage 28 years ago. None of us here have a licence either.

Thanks for the welcome. :)

Upon some thought I felt like I should add (just for what passes for "full disclosure" from a woman who won't even reveal her name, lol) that I work in a consular office of a foreign government (to avoid giving clues to my identity I won't say which one), and I have two full-grown adult (at least according to the date on their birth certificate) sons who both work in law enforcement. One is in a Southeast Texas Sheriff's Office's Human Trafficking Enforcement Division and the other works for CPS.

As for the photo, it was me twenty-two years ago, the day after my Husband and I first took our vows.

Welcome, and good on you for raising the boys in a way that was positive towards law enforcement.

Welcome! I didn’t know we had a colorful reputation. I thought we were the boring, wet blankets of the Christian polygamy world.
Well, when I speak of "the Christian polygamy world" I'm speaking of the only three Patriarchal Polygynous Christian households I know of, so take my words with a grain of salt. Suffice it to say when I mentioned at a recent get-together that I wanted to sign up here, the reactions were...
...well, "mixed."
Anyway, my Husband will be keeping an eye on any conversation I get into, as it should be, and I trust his judgement. :)

Welcome from south Texas. I know a little of what you’re speaking of. We’re a multiple wife household. You’re welcome to get in touch with my women if you want to.

What did they say!?!? It was about me wasn’t it? Please let it have been about me.

Well I'm sorry to inform you names were not named, and I don't want to be like the housewife who told her neighbor "I don't repeat gossip so make sure you hear this the first time."
