Watch B.C's Polygamy Hearing Online

http://www.cbc.ca/canada/british-columb ... meras.html

A week ago I was sitting in my living room watching the news the old fashioned way ;) When I became informed that we will be able to watch the the last of the arguments online. It very rare for a B.C court to alow cameras because judges don't want it turning into a "circus" but in this case we will be able to watch, with a 10-minuet delay, the closing arguements.

The arguments will be broadcast online by CBC and other media partners and will run roughly from 10 a.m. to noon and again from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. PT, Monday to Friday from March 28 to April 9.

Polygamy trial wraps up, could go to Supreme Court of Canada

By Staff Reporter, The Province April 15, 2011

A trial to determine the constitutionality of Canada’s polygamy law wrapped up Friday in B.C. Supreme Court after three weeks of closing arguments.

Chief Justice Robert Bauman heard more than two months of at times emotional testimony from more than two dozen witnesses, including experts and former and current polygamists.

Canada’s polygamy law has been on the books for more than 100 years.

The issue was referred to the B.C. Supreme Court after polygamy charges against two fundamentalist Mormon leaders in the small B.C. community of Bountiful, near Creston, were stayed in 2009.

The case could end up in the Supreme Court of Canada.
