This week's reading and midrash from the Hebrew-Word-that-is-Now-Verbotten here is still about as close to the declared "central focus" of Biblical Families as a story and lesson from the Bible can be.
And, among other things, I contend that the later prohibition on marrying a living wife's sister "to vex her" is NOT an indication from YHVH that there is something 'wrong' with polygyny, but how Yakov handled it. IOW, it's an argument for marriage, and how to do it RIGHT.
