January 20th 2025 - Donald Trump is BACK!

The issue of lying is interesting....

Exo 1:15 Then the sovereign of Mitsrayim spoke to the Hebrew midwives, of whom the name of one was Shiphrah and the name of the other Pu‛ah,
Exo 1:16 and he said, “When you deliver the Hebrew women, and see them on the birthstools, if it is a son, then you shall put him to death, but if it is a daughter, then she shall live.”
Exo 1:17 But the midwives feared Elohim, and did not do as the sovereign of Mitsrayim commanded them, and kept the male children alive.
Exo 1:18 So the sovereign of Mitsrayim called for the midwives and said to them, “Why have you done this, and kept the male children alive?”
Exo 1:19 And the midwives said to Pharaoh, “Because the Hebrew women are not like the Mitsrian women. For they are lively and give birth before the midwives come to them.”
Exo 1:20 So Elohim was good to the midwives, and the people increased and became very numerous.
Exo 1:21 And it came to be, because the midwives feared Elohim, that He provided households for them.

The midwives lied to the Pharaoh and were blessed by God for it....

Abraham lied to Abimelech and received blessings for it.

It both cases, they lied for preservation of life. It seems that sometimes God honors those that lie for the preservation of life.
But legalism is much easier and it’s more fun to be judgmental.

I am not sure where I land on this. But here is a great video that discusses lies. ,"The Truth, Lies, and the Bible, in regard to Polygny", by Dr. William Luck. Besides, it appears MAGA administration does the opposite, they lied to justify killing. To them it is ok to lie to justify murder. Just think of the murder ICE protestor ( Alex Pretti) who was a nurse. Administration claimed he was terrorist while ignoring his Constitutional right to carry a gun. It may have been honest mistake by officers but administration lied about the man's character. What about killing of fishermen (or drug dealers) without due process.

Too many of us have adapted eisegesis to our approach of politics, we introduce one's own presuppositions. We all may be guilty at one time or another or always. Lying is a sin, and words of lies matter to God.

Just out of curiosity, do you TDS kids still believe that the 2020 election wasn’t stolen?

This is not a debate, just an honest question.
I do recall Trump hiring an incompetent team of lawyers - with one being a close friend - to resolve the issue.

I think he lost because of how he handled the COVID crises, and the summer riots of 2020. That left many supporters with a bad taste in their mouth, and they didn’t come out in full force.

Of course, it’s typical Trump to blame someone else for his mistake/loss. He’s doing the same with Iran. He’s doing the same with the tariffs. He’s doing the same with the Epstein files. He did the same with his meme coins (which many of his supporters lost a lot of money).

Because moral virtues have to be hierarhical because what if you finish in situation where you have to choose between virtues.

In your example, choice is between life and truth.

Are we getting lost in translation? My reading of scripture says, "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor." Others will say "Don't lie".
Is that the same thing? Dare we parse this commandment from God and look contextually at this or do we accept the short answer that lying and bearing false witness against thy neighbor are exactly the same thing? Why then does God bless lying in some cases (and by extension as deception which some equate to lying) but not in other cases? I have heard that the strict reading of the Ten Commandments is legal speak as in a courtroom setting. The use of the word "Witness" leads in that direction.
The Hebrew women were strong and didnt follow the rules. The harlot Rahab DECEPTIVELY allowed the escape of the spies and was blessed. God has allowed polygyny which is against the rules of society and some will call out the deception of being ONE with more than one woman and yet not call her a "lawfully wedded wife". We play games designed around deception and call it just alot of fun. We teach our children to not play with our cards "face up."

Great point.
If we we’d in the eyes of Yah, but not in thy eyes of the law, we are practicing deception.
Legalism would declare that a sin.

I respectfully ask that all legalists leave this platform.
Your position condemns me/us and you can have no place here.

Hypocrisy

15Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.

15The Lord then answered him, and said, Thouhypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?

They were using legalism on him when he healed on the Sabath. And he called them hypocrites for judging and condemning him.

You are using Scripture to be judgmental and condemning.
I pray that you can see the hypocrisy.

Listen - I donated hundreds of dollars to Trump’s campaign to help funds his legal costs in the alleged election scandal.

He did not hire the best of the best. It was not a serious legal team. Furthermore, he continued to send out emails asking for donation money after it was officially over.

In honest reflection - the year leading up to the 2020 election was abysmal for Trump. I believe he handled COVID terribly, and was even worse with the 2020 Summer riots. For far too long - he was silent while thieves were doing whatever they wanted across America. Of course, some of them weren’t just thieves but murderers, and they were burning other people’s property to the ground.

After a long while - Trump finally walked to a church with a Bible in his hand. I know now that was just a PR piece, because when he was sworn into office for his 2nd term he didn’t even put his hand on the Bible:

I do not get you. We speak different language. May God give you peace and be blessed.

I guess when President Trump does it is not an abomination. I see.
It was not a lie to call Alex not so Pretti, a terrorist. His actions defined him as such. Here at Fort Hood, we had a terrorist shout out Allah Akbar, and shoot up a military base. He was a psychologist working for the army, but his occupation didn't make him any less a terrorist.

Because the guy at Fort Hood was a terrorist Alex Pretti is therefore a terrorist? Makes me wonder what is your definition of a terrorist. I never said that because he was was ER nurse he cannot be a terrorist. I think you may be reacting to a different dialogue. to claim that someone is a terrorist should meet certain definitions.

Besides is straight of Hormus open or not? Did Trump at any point lie to the world about that or not?

Me too. And somehow I was not immune to getting TDS. Or may be some just look at the fruits versus doing eisegesis that Trump must be good no matter what.
I understand such devotion to our Savior Yeshua but to Trump. No.

I’m thinking this might deserve its own thread, but what the heck. Let’s see how far this takes us past Trump.

What is your dividing line between legalism and relativism? How do you know you’ve gone too far to one side?

Judging someone from a 100% strict interpretation of a verse is legalism in my book.
Strictly speaking, King David and Bathsheba were required to be stoned. But Yah decided to just take the child that resulted from the adultery.
I’m not advocating for not holding someone’s feet to the fire, but this super self-righteous condemnation is an obvious spiritual problem.
We need to show a bit more grace, Yah is their final judge.
And remember that man judges from the outside while Yah judges the heart.
Trump is presently our leader and we are instructed to pray for our leaders, it doesn’t say anything about condemning them and tearing them down.
