I lived in South Africa for five years. It seems to me that not everyone will always have exactly the same motives when they work together.
I think it is a shocking double standard that some communities are lauded for promoting their interests as minorities whereas other communities who try that, even when they are an extreme minority, are called supremacists.
I don't fault those that would seek to provide safeguards for their children when their government will not.
I don't believe that Orania can last. If the country goes all Zimbabwe on everyone, they won't stand a chance. Thus, in my opinion, it is a solution which counts on being ignored indefinitely. I do not think it is a wise hope. Therefore, I do not think it is a good solution. However, does anyone currently have a better one to offer these people?
By the way, Afrikaans people are some of the most amazing, loving, and generous folks I've ever met. Sure, the Apartheid and underlying political party, were a disaster of note, but a very large portion of the Afrikaans people, stout Christians opposed the evils of their day. Many died to do so.
A friend of mine had family members who were bombed by the Apartheid government because they worked for the equal rights of the people that are now denying her equal rights.
The hope of the world is when Messiah returns. Until then, we do our best.
