I will offer a counter opinion. I'm not in favor of granting any government the power to save our souls. On the other hand, I do not see the American system as some especially egregious example of crimes against God. Instead, I see it as just another example of how our Father places governmental powers over us -- and always does so for His purposes.
It's not for me to comprehend the long-term value of what we're going through. It's just for me to accept His Wisdom in the matter, and trust that in the long run I'll grasp it all.
In the meantime, I'm a self-educated and amused observer of the political systems. They fascinate me, and I have my opinions, but mostly I just consider myself as a member of the Body of Christ to be a called-out one who acts as an ambassador for/from Heaven. The more I stay present to the presence of Christ and God, the better off I am. The dog and pony shows going on around me are interesting, but they mean nothing next to the Word of God.
