Thanks everyone for the well wishes. We really appreciate it.
Ok, so here is the requested proposal story. I had been trying to think of a special place to do the proposal and never could think of anything. I mean, I just didn't want to do it in the driveway or something like that. I wanted it to be somewhere out of the ordinary. So the only thing that I could think of was the Biltmore Estate. We already had twelve month passes, so why not? Well the weather took a turn for the worse this weekend and I was really worried about being able to do it. So this morning the rain kinda let up and it was actually fairly warm compared to the way that it has been so I decided to go for it. Well on the way there the rain kinda picked up a little bit and there was more people there than I thought there would be. So when we were walking towards the house we turned up at the big wall in front of the house and headed up the hill towards the marble statue at the top. As soon as Kim got out of the truck she wasn't happy that I was dragging her out into the rain much less making her walk up a hill that really had no other significance (or so she thought). Well, when we got to the top I was actually kinda out of breath and a little short winded so we kinda stood there a minute catching our breaths and I made the comment that maybe I should sit down for a minute to rest and she said "Don't do that. The ground is wet." She started to pull her camera out and take photos of the house and I commented "Well, how about I just kneel for a moment." She said "No, don't do that..." and about that time she turned around and saw the ring box. OH BOY!!! In an instant her face went into convulsions and her lips curled back into her mouth and I wasn't sure if I should call the ambulance or not. It didn't take very long for her to partially recover and grab the ring out of the box and put it on her finger. She was crying up a storm and I didn't have much time to stand up and hug her. I asked her if that was a confirmation and she "YES YES, definately YES". And the rest is history. Oh, except for the friends and family who we notified of our engagement and they immediately asked "Have you set a date?" A DATE?!?! A DATE?!?! We hadn't been engaged for even an hour yet and they were already asking for a date!!!! They've bugged us so much today that we've started planning things out and actually have about three quarters of the wedding planned out.
Another funny related story: Friday was the day that I went out and bought the ring. Well I spent about three hours going between jewelers finding a ring. And when I finally found the ring that I liked and the company that I was going to buy it from I just casually asked them what kind of a deal they had for repeat customers. "You know, if I find another wife in the future." The lady said "Well, we hope you don't get divorced and stay together." And I said "Oh no, I don't mean that. I mean if I find additional wives." She kinda hesitated for a minute and then said "Well, we won't go there." and continued with the rest of the conversation and the transaction. She didn't really know what to say when I said that. lol!
