Has anyone been to the Ark and Creation Museum? We’ve been tossing around the idea of going and I wondered what it’s like and if it’s worth it/ how much time is needed to view everything?

We have also tossed around this same idea many times. I’d absolutely love to take my family for a whole week of fun there. It looks awesome and well worth it! I know the kids would lose their minds with excitement! Lol
I’m interested in hearing from anyone who has been there too.

I have been to the creation museum. And @Mrs. Pacman has been to both. Definitely worth while... I am actually personal friends with Ken Hams son. Although we are not very close anymore. It’s been 10 years since we lived in that area. If someone is going to make trip please let me know. I still have family in the area and a I could likely swing a trip there and meet up with you as well as possibly get us all into the creation museum for free...

Edit: I was mistaken @Mrs. Pacman has not been to the Ark encounter. My oldest son has.

I've never been but know of several families who've gone. It's well worth the time and money. You would be wise to plan at least a 2-4 day stay. There's so much you just can't get to all of it in a day. If I ever get to go, I'll want to spend a few extra dollars on hotel so I can fully enjoy the wide spectrum of learning there. Sure hope you get to go!

Wouldn't that be a great idea for several BF families to plan this vacation together. Talk about fellowship and fun!!!

If we ever get the whole family to America this is a must see for us! The children have learned about it online, which is as close as they're going to get at the moment. I didn't realise you'd need more than a day to view it all, it must be pretty spectacular .

They are two different locations. Approximately 40 minutes apart. I recommend at least a full day for each and honestly you wouldn’t be disappointed if you scheduled 2 days for each...

Just in case folks don’t already know... Ken Ham and his ministry Answers in Genesis are very public and vocal about being anti polygamy and they put it on the same or at least similar level as homosexuality... I like the stand they take about creation but obviously they are not correct about everything...

I am the blonde to the right, my daughter to the right of me and my 2 little ones standing in front. As you can see, the Ark is behind us.
Wow! Even as a carpenter it’s hard to picture the scale of the Ark in my minds eye, just from reading the text. That is impressive... and that’s if Noah was using the “Egyptian cubit” and not something bigger.

I’m almost certain that it was an Egyptian cubit. Moses wrote the account of it and:

Acts 7:22
[22] And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds.

His default would have been the Egyptian cubit... also the structure that was found in the mountains of Ararat fits perfectly in size with the Egyptian cubit but not the Hebrew cubit...

Do we know for sure that Moses wrote that specific part? As far as I’m aware, some of it may have already been written and Moses compliled what was already written and wrote some himself.

In the beginning of Genesis, the verbiage about the Sun and Moon are “the greater light and the lesser light”. In later chapters, Genesis says the Sun and Moon. Certain scholars suggest Moses edited Genesis since Moses knew the greater light and lesser light were the Sun and Moon. In addition, Moses would give the name of a city followed by ‘which is now called’ and he’d give the name that was currently being used. These facts, among others, lend to the possibility Moses edited Genesis from older writings. Which could easily open up another Pandora’s box.

Hmm I’m out of my depth here guys. But I’m interested please expound...

@Pacman, you’re tough. Lol, that particular study came from 10-15 years ago. The only other thing I remember is that there were about five things that indicate it being edited by Moses. We know for certain Moses didn’t live in that time period. So, we’re left with two possibilities. 1, Moses edited Genesis from other writings. Since we know cuneiforms were created/written during the time of Genesis, there could have been an account of early mankind. Personally, my hunch is that Enoch wrote the account of Adam since Enoch knew his Grandfather personally. But, that’s just a hunch on my part. 2, Moses could have been given direct knowledge of how we began directly inspired by God himself. I don’t have any problem with either account. But as I said earlier, the greater light, lesser light, and calling a city by one name and then giving its current name lends to the possibility Genesis was edited.

Obviously, since I didn’t live during that time period, I can only speculate.

Since we're involved in the discussion of the Ark's history, I just watched these 3 videos this past week and thought all of you would enjoy them as much as I did, especially if you're a history buff and in search of truth.

Throughout Genesis there are sections, each finishing with "these are the generations of X". This repeated phrase is like a signature line, and I believe signifies a switch from one ancient document to the next. I understand this to show that Moses compiled it from records made by several prominant ancestors.

On that note, I see Genesis 1:1 - 2:4 (to "these are the generations of the heavens and the earth") as an account given by God, probably to Adam. The next section is Adam's account, written by him or someone interviewing him. That is why there are two creation accounts - one from the perspective of God, and one from the perspective of Adam and starting only at his creation.
