Deuteronomy

I found this information online and thought it was interesting. In Deuteronomy it doesn't say what some people contend unless God is limiting one King to one horse, one wife and one gold coin. The NIV reads the passage as "He must not take many wife's..." Which is the sense of the version some use. The passage doesn't forbid more than one wife. It forbids too many wife's. Also, If God fobids polygamy for all why did he feel it necessary to specifally forbid it for Bishops in Timothy? Thinking maybe too many wifes for a Bishop would distarct him from doing what he was to do. I am new to all this so if I am misinformed please let me know. :?: God Bless, Angie

My question to those who think Polygamy is wrong or a sin is would Jesus protray himself as sinning? Of course not!! So go to Matthew 25 and read about the 10 virgins...5 were wise and 5 foolish. The bridegroom went in and married all 5 wise virgins. To me is doesn't get any clearer then Jesus himself saying that it is okay for a man to take 5 women as wives. This one makes people sputter.....but if polygamy was sin Jesus would not have used this parable.....
