Do men need to construct more wells?

Because hand digging wells is a highly dangerous activity, so their construction would result in a higher ratio of women to men and more opportunities for polygamy?
All of the above, the actual action of digging and inherent danger may make the wells creator more appealing if he survives the construction process.

Or less appealing, if he took a rock to the face yet survived.
Or maybe through such a series of unfortunate events and face deformation the man was forced to change his standards and now found he was appealing to a different demographic of women. Or possibly could be exploited by very beautiful and caring women that want to get praise for their abilities to overlook his physical conditions for true love and internet fame.

I just changed the lightbulb in our well house today; no proposals yet...
Oh, I'm sorry, it says your female and I missed it, I would guess you'd have to call and electrician, handy man or maybe the local pump guy to change that bulb out, or just hire someone to dig a traditional well? Maybe you just changed the bulb too quickly... Usually there would of been a lot of cranking to hoist that bucket to the top and I think it was both the hand cranking action and the time it took to draw the water that created so many marriages.

Well, well, well.
Let me know how it works.

I don’t want to name any names, but rumor has it that one of the guys at the last retreat might have been seen chatting with a girl on the serving staff……
Would that be the modern equivalent of watering the flocks? The he-haws at any rate?
