Conclusion.
Being FLE practitioners implies that we have some knowledge of each family’s place in society: their forms, components, benefits, and challenges. Our society is not static. Rather, we are witnessing radical changes in our legal system and our culture’s ability to accept social differences.
Supporting families means supporting different kinds of people and the children they raise. It means opening our minds to the many different cultures, environments, and families of origin. It means having compassion without bias, or at least being able to confront our own biases. It means acknowledging the past, knowing the present, and preparing to face the future. It means being prepared.
