I just read this article the other day and thought this sentence was interesting:

"Martha Nussbaum, the leading feminist intellectual of our time, recently came out in favor of not just polygamy but the 19th-century Mormon model of polygamy."

I'm interested as to what lead her to this conclusion, since my awareness of polygamy came from reading the Bible. It just seems like feminists would be telling wives in plural marriage that they don't need any man, much less to share one.

I haven't read your article yet, but I'd like to make a comment that just occurred to me.

A radical feminist might have a mind similar to the Amazons of legend. I remember seeing a television show — perhaps a Wonder Woman episode — as a child where a man was trapped on an island of Amazons who really only wanted him so he could impregnate them. In that society, it was women who ruled. Some Mormons were known for having a very large number of wives, so I think that is what she may have had in mind. In the mind of some women, men have just one use. :D
