Gender Balance or Imbalance

As has been noted, the overall balance of male to female is roughly equal, but what is the equalizing force? This article talks about China's One-child policy and India's sex selective abortions, but ignores the female infanticide problem in India. What I find interesting is how the gender imbalance in these two countries, spills out into other countries.

We just got our cat neutered yesterday. Millions of men get emasculated, day after day, and indeed you get the idea from watching Oprah and other forms of entertainment, that that is the way it is supposed to be.

Not in the USA that I've heard; quite the opposite. But in several European nations it is true.
