• Biblical Families is not a dating website. It is a forum to discuss issues relating to marriage and the Bible, and to offer guidance and support, not to find a wife. Click here for more information.

Greetings from Colorado

Hello all my name is Asia Brown and my hubby's name is Rick he may call himself Rich on here as well he goes by both names. So of you have been requesting more information about us and how we got here and it's bit of a long story so I decided to post our story here.
We have been married for 4 years and we have no living children yet, but in time we will. When we first got married we weren't interested in having a plural marriage and in fact the very same day we married I told him I would be greatly upset if he one day told me he wanted to have more then one wife. He promised me he would never do that and that if I wanted that lifestyle it would have to be my idea. The subject was never brought up until the show "Sister Wives" began airing then we would watch the show and talk about it. I was very curious about the show and wanted to know more and specifically wanted to know if it could ever work. And he would tell me how he would deal with given situations and how it might differ from others. I didn't know at the time, but it was like he was proving himself to me that he could make it work for us. Still I didn't like it and I was ignoring God telling me that I needed to consider it. Then recently just this year my husband and I had the very same type of dream the same night and the dream was that he married another woman. I thought it was goofy and that I made this dream up. Still thinking it was a joke I told my husband of my dream and he was shocked and said he had a similar dream and he told me his. We both then knew that this had to be from God. So now here we are waiting for God to bring us the perfect woman to join our wonderful home to make it more complete then it was.
My husband one day was scanning the internet for things of plural marriage and this site came up and boy am I so thankful and blessed that God led us here. We both had been searching for support for our chosen new lifestyle. I look forward to getting to know all of you and hopefully in person at one of the retreats would be a great blessing to us.

Thanks for reading,
~Asia

Welcome Rick and Asia, it's great to see you on here, and thanks for sharing a bit of your story - it's great to see God working in a family, and we look forward to seeing the rest of it unfold. We are actually just now focusing on planning a West Coast retreat, likely the first weekend of November - location still to be determined.

Blessings, Nathan

In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed; Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction. (Job 33:15-16)

Just a verse that came to mind upon reading this testimony...

God bless

Welcome Asia! Thanks so much for the back story for you and Rick. It was great having you on chat. It gets a bit crazy with that many ladies, but I hope you will be brave and come again. :D May you find lots of good information and encouragement here.

Welcome and ditto what Mark said. :)

Welcome, and thankyou for sharing, God does have some rather blunt ways of working sometimes!

Welcome to the group. My name is Jan. Ron, Mariechen and I live in the Phoenix AZ area. You must consider attending the next retreat in November. We have a solid core group of believers that are real in their faith and serving the Lord.

This life-style is a challenge as well as a blessing. It helps you grow and mature, that is for sure. I love our friends at Biblical Families and it's so helpful to be able to talk with others that God has inspired to do life this way. I look forward to getting to meet you in Vegas in November. Please try and attend. You will be blessed by the people you meet there.

I love your forum name Jan - it suits you!

I would echo your comments on the retreat - I really got a lot out of the TN retreat.
