hardned hearts

I would like prayer for my wife, Brenda. I just have this groaning in my soul that she is heardening her heart against me, from rejection of the things I have tried to teach her. I have actualy recently & for quite some time been keeping to myslef & praying, but when we do discuss the word & what we are learning, its only natural that I am discussing family order & marriage. I try to keep it in a real neutral way, as in not emphesizing mono or plural. Mostly Im just praying though, other than this we are getting along fine.

So yesterday, at 1045 am, I was delivered from ciggerettes. Yea, i know they are bad, I was kinda wondering when the Lord would "convict" me of them, I was a heavy smoker. Im heading to a job, having a smoke, & I hear that quite small voice telling me to enjoy it, cause it was over, but no real conviction. I also heard why it was over, to show Brenda the power of God was on me, & to accept this as God's work & not mine, & to not let her heart harden like the pharoh. I did tell her about this, lovingly & slowly, trusting the Holy Spirit. She took it well, but I just got this nagging all day of why she would need to see this kind of power.

As far as the smokes, no problems, no urges. I did pray for God's forgiveness (took this to the cross) for what I have done to my body, & prayed for restoration if there is any damage, was led to 2 chronicles 7:14 to meditate on

I also took my "desires" to the mountain & left them with the Lord, as far as wanting a ciggerette, just to keep my "man" out of the deal, if that makes sence.

Praise Jesus, He is Faithful

You've got quite a testimony on being on the right track. That's excellent. We will pray for her openness here. Its good not to emphisise mono or plural as it cretates a contrast that shouldn't exist in the fist place.

Bless you,

Jair

John,

I had to laugh when I saw the title of this thread because I am such a poor typist that I often get the letters transposed. That is why I like to write my posts in Word so that most of the mistakes will show up so I can correct them. Lol. :D

A hardened heart is a result of unbelief. Brenda does not believe what you are trying to teach her because you have been out of order in the past and lost her trust. It will take an act of God to help her into the place of trusting you regarding these issues. There is hope, because after over three years of walking with the Son of God, the disciples were also unbelievers, even though two sets of reliable witnesses had told them that Jesus was risen...

Mark 16:14 -

14Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen.
The Holy Bible, New King James Version, (Nashville, Tennessee: Thomas Nelson, Inc.) 1982.

Keep up the good work and I believe there will be a breakthrough.

Be blessed,

Ray
