Interesting thought from an employee

When we have talked about polygamy, he paralled it to tattoos. He said the only people that care about you having tattoos are people without them. Tattooed people don't care if you don't have them. It made me laugh. He said that having a second wife sounds like the same thing as having tattoos. The only people that care about you having one are the people that don't have one. The people that have one don't care that others don't. HAH.

Hmm. Good for a laugh, but I couldn't help but think of something else, too - to paraphrase an old 'pro-polygyny' argument:

You can't show me where a man having a second wife is prohibited in Scripture - but I can show you where having a tattoo is.

(Yeah, I know 'cuttings in the flesh for the dead' may or may not be a stretch. But it's not as much of one as what some try to do with marriage... )
