Men Can End???

I ran across the phrase “Men Can End” on LinkedIn this morning and was immediately disturbed with the characterization on that post that masculinity equals a rape culture. I feel as if our society is doing everything in its power to kill off men as we know them, which is partially why I think the enemy is so opposed to patriarchy.

I dug a little deeper, and it seems this originates with the Texas Blazers, who, “aim to be visible allies on campus against gender-based violence. The MenCanEnd project produces a steady stream of opportunities for men, particularly those not usually engaged, to get connected with gender-based violence prevention. By explicitly linking the idea of unhealthy masculinity to rape culture, we hope to do primary prevention work to reduce violence in our world.”

Despite thin attempts to disguise this behind violence prevention, this is nothing more, in my opinion, than an attempt to emasculate men in our society. Just to be certain, I am opposed to rape and violence from men toward women, but taking away masculinity is not the answer.

Ben Shapiro takes on this narrative when he gives talks at University campuses. He obliterates the goofy stat claim that 25% of women in college get raped; "what insane parent would send their daughter to a school with a 1 in 4 chance she'd get raped?"
Here's a 3 minute exchange with a student after the previous points were made: Ben Shapiro on Rape Culture
Here's another 3 minute spiel where he lays it out on feminism..the fact that women are protected less by men than they should be
There's a slew of good stuff from Ben Shapiro and shrink Jordan Peterson which I find nice to hear after garbage like the "men can end" propaganda

Ugh, I find it interesting you brought this up as I was thinking about this the other night bothered about a YouTube video that my wife showed me. Toxic Masculinity is what it was calling men who are strong willed and dominate men... I'm not sure what to expect to come, but thankfully this is a very small movement and there's a lot of ladies against it standing up for men's equal rights!

This is the happy face of the feminist movement; trying to emasculate men. The less happy half just wants to kill them all.

Its all bunk. They understand neither masculinity or femininity and explicitly tie masculinity to violence while ignoring the greater violence perpetrated by women because they're setting up a matriarchy.

All I gotta say is I LOVE my man. I appreciate the protection I have by being under a strong mans care (covering). The best part of my man has shown up in the last few years. He’s strong, tall, dark, hairy, and handsome. He’s all MALE!! He’s not only strong in muscle but in mind and heart. He’s strong in the LORD. He has courage to stand for right, to do right, even at a cost.
Why would a woman want to be with a weak man? I wonder if changing the ‘gender of man’ is another way of changing the ‘gender of God’? Ugh! Why don’t we want manly men? Why don’t we want protection? Matriarchal homes fall to such horrible destruction. Matriarchal America, not for me! But, here we go it seems.

I get the feeling most here on BF understand the problem facing society in regards to what is happening to the male gender. What I guess is important is trying to figure out how to make sure the general male population understands how important it is for them to take responsibility for themselves and stand up and be men, especially in the family role.

The general male population is figuring this out on their own. The bigger problem is a subset: fathers of daughters.

Good points... I think most men are intimidated about the idea of wanting more than one wife because of how their first will handle it, or more so not understand it....a lady who accepts it and understands it gets a great deal of respect from me. What bothers me is when I'm told by a lady that is "christian" that poly is a "great sin and very wrong" to do. Really does show people's misunderstanding of the bible or lack of knowledge and dependence on a denominational church teachings instead of the truth.
