New Polygamy Drama-FOX

I never cared for Big Love. We don't watch too much tv, but if there was a show that told the right kind of poly story, I'd definitely watch it.

From my perspective, Big Love isn't showing polygamy in the most positive light. However, we have discovered that if a family (adults, at least) watches it together, takes the time to evaluate it according to Scriptural principles, it can create some excellent talking points that may not naturally come up in everyday conversation. Anyway, that is my two cents.

I am sure, as with everything made by man, that "Big Love" has givers and takers on the show. Only my husband and I have watched it, mainly out of curiosity. We do not subscribe to the cable network that runs the show; however, we stumbled across the series of "Big Love" seasons on DVD at the local public library which we were able to rent. Of course, the show is being created to obtain an audience as with most television nowadays, but it is the closest thing to polygamy that I have ever had the chance to watch. Maybe if this new show "Midline" is picked up, it will show a more positive light of what we all feel polygamy is about. Having been raised by a father who was a strict, Methodist minister who finagled bible scriptures to preach what he considered to be the truth, I was attracted to "Big Love" because this was the first time I have ever seen people effectively living out plural marriages.

TLC aired a great special on a polygamous family called, "My three wives". I don't know how to get a copy, but if you can find one, I would definitely watch it. I really showed the good and the bad and how polygamy can work out. That is what caught my attention and allowed me to know about and look into polygamy originally.

I'm also a fan of Big Love. It was humorous and unique due to the poly family.

I'd love to watch this documentary as well. I've found quite a few on Youtube but they are short versions of the original documentaries. You might have luck finding it on TLC's web site.
