I thought for sure I would see this mentioned here! My friend, who I just told about our decision sent me this:

People are definitely in their emotions reacting throwing scripture at it to make it go away. My friend said it is blowing up her feed. People are going nuts over this. My first thought was there is a famine in the land of the hearing of the word of God! My husband said it is blowing up his feed as well.

What a brave family. Praying now!

Good find. Any other links or videos from this church service?

When I read things like this, I honestly don’t blame them for their reaction. It’s the result of many years of cultural indoctrination. They feel that it’s righteous indignation. Hopefully someone will come along to enlighten them and show them a more complete understanding of this doctrine.

In my experience, they also see the women as "victims." They want to save and protect us. I do believe they have good intentions, sometimes, but it comes from a place of ignorance. They just can't possibly imagine a woman who isn't weak or brainwashed being accepting of plural marriage. It seems the opposite is true in most situations though.

Oh, don’t get too worked up. That’s exactly why these tubers make these videos. It’s essentially all clickbait. The more worked up you get, the more attention their channel gets.

o_O I saw these headlines and can't endorse these folks in any way. Any man calling himself a Prophet, Apostle, etc., and allowing his women to usurp authority over other men by teaching mixed multitudes or even speaking in church has some serious spiritual and doctrinal deficiencies.

Doctrinal deficiencies? In what way? Please explain.

How do you know these women are teaching mixed multitudes? This video seemed to show a testimonial. Did I miss something?

How do you read the admonition for women to be silent in the congregation? Is it no speaking, period, or no teaching?

The man calls himself a Prophet. His women are absolutely being placed in positions of authority by the mere virtue of their speech. Feel free to look more deeply into the details of their congregation.

The prohibition against teaching is separate and extends beyond the boundaries of the four walls of a building. Older women can teach other women what’s listed in Titus 2.

We make these things so complicated and they’re really not. Silence means silence.

I’m not defending them. I just want to see facts before aspersions.

And by being a prophet, does that mean he’s prophecying (speaking truth) about God or putting himself in a position of divine authority ala Nathan, Samuel, etc. Have you asked him how he’s using it? We should all prophecy, right?

Prophesying does have a foretelling and a forthtelling component. Prophets with a Big P are rarely coloring inside the lines and simply forthtelling what’s already been inspired and preserved by God in His Word.

Go and ask him what he means, man. Don’t take my word for it. Go and see for yourself. I’ve done my homework. If you don’t like where I landed and the answers I came up with, by all means Brother; be a Berean, do the hard work and the heart work for yourself on this one.

He’s an apostate and a heretic and a terrible mascot for any sort of orthodox pro-polygyny movement.

May God still use this story for people to study what Bible truly says about patriarchy and polygyny.

I have been told that this family was at last biblical family retreat. Whatever error they hold to, may God use our brothers and sisters to bring them on path of righteousness through gentleness.

"Brothers, if a man is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore such a one in the spirit of meekness, watching yourselves, lest you also be tempted."

Says who? What’s your evidence? You cast stones with little or no evidence.

Have you met him? Spoken to him? Did you visit this congregation?

You are quite a lofty fellow judging a lot of folks.
