Open Doors

Right now our Family is undergoing some financial stress. We recently had to finance a new vehicle due to the fact that our family is about to increase in a few months and we needed a vehicle that allowed room for 2 carseats. Now, DH's current job is undergoing some changes that will cut back his hours with a very good possibility of a paycut on top of that. We really can't afford a reduction in income right now and cannot afford a daycare, much less the fact I am due with our new Baby Girl about Mid-February, so me getting a job is not an option. I would ask for prayer that God will open some doors for DH, where he would atleast be able to bring home the same or even a little more financially. I would also like to request prayer that we, as a family, will draw closer to God and remain strong through these trials.
In Jesus Name,
Amen

Any loss of wages even without the loss of the job will qualify him for unemployment benefits for the difference in his wages. This was explained to me a few years ago, and I don't know if the laws change from state to state or not, but a call to the Unemployment office in the state you are in would answer that question...just a thought...

I will be praying for you and your family. I will be praying that the Lord Adonai curries you through with his great hand of provision.

Scarecrow: Not really sure how that works. :?
Update:
A new company is taking over the account he works and they will be expecting them to do more work for less money and cutting back on the hours worked. They are also talking about switching the schedules back and forth between days of the week and days to nights. There is one other option that may be possible locally, he'll have to work longer hours to make close to what he does now, but it wont be as much wear on his body as his current job is. Also, they are a small company and don't report to DAC (pretty much a work history for truckers with reports on performances or flags and such), so that will make it harder for him to get a job with a larger trucking company in the future. If all else fails, he'll just have to go out on the road , and if that is the case he may as well stay with his current company. Right now he is trying to figure out exactly what is going to happen and praying for God to grant him the wisdom to make the right decisions.

The way it was explained to me is like this: regardless what he does, if his hours or hourly wages are reduced he would then be eligible to receive benefits based on the difference of his income. If he made $1000/week before and now makes $800/week he is eligible for unemployment compensation for the reduction in pay. It may be called underemployment or some other term I don't know. In any case a phone call or visit to the unemployment office to ask a few questions wouldn't hurt anything. I have never dealt with this situation but became aware of it some time ago and thought I would pass on the suggestion to you. Best wishes for your situation...
