Polygamy Debate

Wow; thanks for the reminder. I actually wrote an essay for this site, on this topic, literally months ago, and then put it aside (it took a while for all of the registrations, and then I got sidetracked.) Guess I'll try again to post it.

Now you are beginning to sound like me - too many irons in the fire, and easily distracted.

Oh well...

I did at least get it submitted last night (it takes quite an effort - no wonder I hadn't finished the process ;) ) but I still don't see it posted up there yet. Don't know how long that will take. (Should be #29 on the "yes" side, even though I made the point that "legalization" has nothing to do with something that God already permits.)

Great! ...and very good point.

I don't know if you were referring to the post here, or that article, Randy -- but I do see that it is up on "Helium" now. (was the #9 article on the Yes side, although I still only see 28 articles total). It'll be interesting to see what happens via feedback or other stuff there - this is obviously my first time in that forum.

And here's a link to the new one I put up last night. This one is quite a bit longer, and intended to be a more general case for polygyny from an explicitly Biblical perspective, as opposed to a legal one like the debate topic.

Of course, it's in an entirely different area on Helium, under the heading "Christian understanding of polygamy":
