Biblical Families is not a dating website. It is a forum to discuss issues relating to marriage and the Bible, and to offer guidance and support, not to find a wife. Click here for more information.
i understand the reasoning for not supporting them, but have you ever studied the list of all that they own?
i may be wrong, but didn't they buy coke-cola? (LDS not FLDS)
anyway, for me life is too short and complicated to try and figure out the backgrounds of every purveyer of goods and services.
there are a lot of nice but very decieved people in that system and who knows which ones will come out of it and be our brothers and sisters in 10 years? we look on the outside, but YHVH judges the heart (i am a major offender)
do everything as unto the Lord and pause to see if there is a check in your spirit. He wants to lead us much more than we want to be lead.
Back in the 80's the LDS church made a ruling that while it was okay for LDS members to own casinos, it was not okay for LDS members to work in Casinos. I found that to be hypocrisy and I didn't like it very much. I don't worry too much about where my money goes, but on something like this I would hate to have people get the idea that I support those particular ideas. It is one thing to go to a store and buy something anonymous but something as obvious as this would raise questions and make people think I believe in something I don't.
I was thinking the same thing that Lissa posted. I like the looks for the shirts. It might help the cause in promoting poly marriage; however, I think there are some people involved in a poly lifestyle that is not Biblical based, and I think it is wrong.
Sadly, this is how Satan works in his fallen world -- by mixing the truth with lies (the famous "80/20 Rule") and pretending to be what he is not.
In French, such folks are called agent provocateurs; the Bible talks about those who falsely claim to be "Jews, but are a synagogue of Satan" and reminds us that Lucifer was once an angel of light.
That technique of lies is effective - witness comments in other threads here on BF which confirm how people without "eyes to see" will claim to search here without really seeking the truth, much less finding what the Bible really says, so that can go back to have their "ears tickled" by familiar lies and traditions.
Anyone can print a T-shirt; some are even cute. But it's fruit that counts -- along with perseverance...
Its tough to trace who is profiting off what, but if we really want that there are lots of custom t-shirt businesses around (at least around here) that we can make our own designs for.
Steve
I thought the LDS bought major shares in Pepsico (and its restaurant trios). It could be one or the other, either way. I should really look up some documentation for that one day, its a neat fun fact.
I'm usually quite a conspiracy theorist, but in this case it's probably just the printer that's making money off these.
Cafe Press will make any kind of t-shirt you want. As long as you're paying, they don't care what you want on it. You could even upload the Biblical Families logo and print it on a shirt or cap. I could order a t-shirt that says "DeeAnn is Brilliant" and they'll print it. Hmmm...I think I'd like that t-shirt. I'm thinking pink.
