Polygamy vs Polyamory

This 2015 survey reveals an interesting dichotomy in peoples view of polygamy vs. polyamory.

survey taken in the UK. That's half as much support for polygamy as polyamory.

My suspicion is that liberals tend to support polyamory and hate polygamy whereas conservatives tend to oppose anything except monogamy.

This is also Britain, so immigrant politics almost certainly plays a bigger factor than we would expect. Whereas in the more religious US the culture war looms larger.

Wow that’s really bad and makes no logical sense...

Politics today is so much more about how one feels than logic and facts. Scott Adams (creator of the Dilbert comic strip) has written a lot about this when he predicted a Trump victory in his blog back when no one else even thought Trump was a serious candidate.

You can easily see this lack of logic in the Kavanaugh hearing when people were strongly taking sides when they had no idea what the facts were and could not possibly even know what the facts were (only the people involved and who were there could possibly know the truth for sure). The shouts were "I believe him!" and "I believe her!". It reminded me of the teenage girls who were Team Edward or Team Jacob while watching Twighlight. It had absolutly nothing to do with logic.

To answer this poll question logically would first require a definition and understanding of the word "moral". What is that basis of morality? Few could get that far, or sadly even care to.

To answer this most would conjure up some picture in thier mind. Polyamory does not have historical bagage and so is easier to go with the live and let live. If the image of polygamy that comes up in your mind is oppressive patraiarchy or muslim invasion and death to their culture and way of life then they are going to be against it.

If I remember correctly, lesbians tend toward monogamy, but gay men tend toward polyamory and/or open relationships.

So polygay seems accurate, even if by accident.
