prayer request

Hello everyone. First off, for my prayer requests, a little more about myself. As you may know from my introduction post and my profile I think, I'm 30 years old and hoping to be a pastor (or at least do some sort of ministry work someday). Though, I myself I have a couple of medical issues. The first being that I do have Tourette's Syndrome, and the second being Asperger's Syndrome. For the tourette's, as long as I eat and drink healthy foods and beverages it will stay more calm, but if I start consuming bad junk foods, then the tics (i.e. muscle twitching sort of tics) will start acting up again. As such with my disabilities, it is difficult finding work of any kind let alone ministry/pastoral based work, especially in this economy. And with my financial difficulties, it has caused I admit a strain in my relationship with my fiancee. Also with my disabilities, am currently living still at home with parents. But like with work, I also pray for the Lord to provide me with a good place of my own to live. So I suppose my prayer requests is 1) that I may find work, 2) a good place to live (even if it is a small apartment or something) and 3) for the relationship with my filipina fiancee to improve again. Thank you all for your taking the time to read this request, and God bless us all everyone.

In His Holy Name,
Joshua

Welcome Joshua, I pray God's wisdom and sense of timing for you. I ask Him to help your parents know exactly how much support to give you to help you develop independence and that He help you develop a greater ability to understand your fiance's unspoken communication and subtle meanings of her tone of voice so that you may love her more effectively.

As the mother of a son with Asperger's, I find your determination to exemplify God's love encouraging. Thank you.

Good to meet you Joshua. Personally I think Asperger's can actually be an advantage in understanding the scripture, it may eliminate distractions and allow you to figure it all out more clearly and logically, and especially to memorise it well. And there are plenty of opportunities for work and ministry in this connected world that occur online and which even an extreme verbal version of Tourette's wouldn't get in the way of - so many more opportunities are open to you with your mild condition. God will have a good plan.

Just a thought on your Filipina fiancee and the fact that you have now been blessed with a second - have you met these women personally or only online? Just be careful if it's online, you may miss cues that will indicate if they are genuine or scammers, or may misinterpret the reason for the first failing to communicate much. If you are unsure about anything you could share a conversation in confidence with one of the ladies here to get their opinion on it. The "filipino bride" space is rife with scammers, but also many genuine Christian ladies who would make a great wife, it may be very difficult to tell the difference particularly with Asperger's. You wouldn't be the first to meet a decent wife there, you also wouldn't be the first to be scammed.

Prayer is not a mysterious practice reserved only for clergy and the religiously devout. Prayer is simply communicating with God listening and talking to him.
