Single moms and poverty

Thelyphthora, still true in every age...

We know the problems, we know what the solution can be at least for some. I partly agree with @Cap, one question is how to reach them - but therein lie many serious problems. Including the fact that many would not be suitable to marry even if you did reach them. And there just aren't enough of us to pick up all the pieces of this mess, we can't be the ambulance at the bottom of the cliff. Though we can help a few.

The biggest question is how to change society so men are encouraged to take responsibility for their OWN actions, rather than being shunned if they take responsibility.

Widows, single mothers, and homeless women, (from this country and others) are the group that would benefit the most in God's blessing in a plural relationship. I guess the question is, how to reach them?
Its not necessary to reach them specifically. Every woman, regardless of her background, taken into a family increases the marriageable men pool for all other women.

Sin is a smaller word but a bigger problem that faces the world, both for men and women. Women are not the only one that face ruin. They are just a part of the larger world that we are called to bring light to. I would be the ambulance at the bottom of the cliff if God would give me the ability to be a blessing to someone else. I believe God's Kingdom is coming, one family at a time. If we all took on a greater load using God's strength we could bring it here all that much faster.

So my question is how to reach them? How to change the laws so that we in our country could bring others here? To change the world we have to change families, and to change families, we, who understand a little more about God's purpose for families should be able to stretch a little more.

I for one am glad that there are missionaries who hear and heed the call to be an ambulance.

Problems like this require a two pronged attack. PM as solution for the current single is but one part. The other is dealing with the root causes so that new single mothers are not created.

YEAH, We need an Combat medics and a M.A.S.H tent ready for triage, but it is best to reach a public before there's an outbreak.

The reason I said "we can't be the ambulance at the bottom of the cliff" was simply because we are too few. I'm not discouraging anyone. Go for it, help a few women.

But we could take 10 wives apiece and the vast majority of hurting women still wouldn't even know anything about it.

And the vast majority of hurting women are tied to other men who should be taking responsibility for their own actions - in many cases we would be sinning by taking them on. We can't help everyone.

Nor do most of us have the financial means to help many.

But by all means we should help those God leads us to help.

Yup
We aren’t going to make much of a dent in the problem until the Millennium.

We are all familiar with this little parable...
One day, an old man was walking along a beach that was littered with thousands of starfish that had been washed ashore by the high tide. As he walked he came upon a young boy who was eagerly throwing the starfish back into the ocean, one by one.

Puzzled, the man looked at the boy and asked what he was doing. Without looking up from his task, the boy simply replied, “I’m saving these starfish, Sir”.

The old man chuckled aloud, “Son, there are thousands of starfish and only one of you. What difference can you make?”

The boy picked up a starfish, gently tossed it into the water and turning to the man, said, “I made a difference to that one!”

I think we all know the magnitude of the problem and the smallness of our size. We are not alone any more than Gideon was....

Truth is, we are using a two pronged attack: Each one save one and education/publicity.

We are each walking by the Spirit as the Father prepares us to be a hands on help to someone as He directs. In doing so, we learn, grow and become successful examples worth emulating.

At the same time the Father is teaching and preparing members on here for outreach through the web/blog/YouTube, etc...

All on here know that the Father is doing something and, as usual, He doesn't start big or with big people. He starts small and uses those that others wouldn't think to be warriors.

Welcome to a generational paradigm shift!

I have seen this surrogate husband effect, then many women don't need a man to be their head anymore. Why put up with a man with some basic rules if the don't have to? The state takes from the workers (higher percentage of income tax is paid for by males) against their will and re-distributes a little to the ones who vote for a bigger more powerful state. This is a sad fact. I wonder how many can see this. Men are painted bad now, men have to be made bad so they can be harvested for the system without too much fuzz. Lol
I wonder how many can see this. Blessings everyone..

Exactly, eventually it's not going to work, there might even be some blowback. That is where we are slowly heading, but as long as state continues to borrow from our children's future, it can offer mad money to buy votes and sustain such social programs, wars etc.. We are seeing the debt hole getting deeper. Can that end well?
In the mean time, after several decades, we will continue to obey and pay. What else can we do? ;)

We
Which means it is not a sustainable model. Productivity from men will plummet and then the state will no longer be rich and will no longer be able to support the women. Dalrock has written about this extensivly.
We may have a few more decades of this forced transfer operation? I wonder how much more it would affect family stability? Why do they desire husbands and headship?
