Thanks for current Job, and prayer for next

First is thanks for the current job that is ending. 3 years ago, almost exactly, God provided this job in direct answer to prayer and attempted fasting at a point when we were down to rice and beans and wondering where the next gallon of drinkable water would come from? (I kept failing to go completely food-free, but did keep trying.) The job was offered for 2 months, but has instead run 3 years and been quite an adventure. I'm intensely grateful.

(No, I don't work that slow. The client had no realistic idea how long it would take to do what THEY wanted done.)

But it appears to end this week. The client converted onto their new software this past weekend, and this week I'm putting the old software to bed. Then no idea at all WHAT is next, only an intense conviction that the God who provided this job, which was better than the last one, which in turn was better than the previous one ... has something GOOD in store! And an eager anticipation to see how it works out!

So drag up your chairs with CindyW and I, say a prayer of thanks and supplication if you don't mind, and BRING ON THE POPCORN!!! Isn't being a Christian an ADVENTURE? :D

In case anyone is wondering what this avatar pic is about, I was drumming during a worship service at a Hebraic Christian seminar last year. !Another BF friend was at the piano leading worship. Good memories.

Don't worry, the pic will change soon.

The popcorn was brought out and a prayer of thanks to the God Most High was given on your behalf!
Looking forward to great things for you and Cindy!

Report a bit later. ...

Yup. The job came a screaming halt.

Landlady refused to renew lease, which was up, except under conditions that were unacceptable to us. 2nd last vehicle expired. Hauled to the junkyard and got a little cash to pay utilities. Church helped with rent and utilities and said, "Please, just don't leave -- we're convinced you were sent here for a reason."

This pastor and some church members know of our involvement in PM and BiblicalFamilies, and one family has been referred to the site, though their interest is unlikely to be towards participation, but rather understanding.

A bit of money was found in other out of the way locations, utilities have stayed on to date, we've been housed, clothed, fed, warmed, transported, communicate-able, had TP and detergent, and we've been offered a house at less than half what we were paying with no move-in deposit -- Just 1st month's rent. (Ok, not so nice, either, but we'll make do!)

Remaining vehicle, and most important one for us (the box truck -- suitable for moving small mountains of belongings) died this last weekend, putting us afoot. Same day we were offered a church member's spare vehicle to use free for the foreseeable future. They even put on new brakes and filled the tank first!

Job situation: My skills are a bit focused or specialized, making new jobs a challenge to find. God could find me work, presumably, tomorrow, or tell me where to fish for dinner that carries gold coins. So far He's done neiter *grin*. That's ok. Look at all the blessings above! I am doing work for someone who can't pay now, but MAY pay REALLY WELL in future.

There have been some personal challenges and surprises as well in family life, which I'm not going to post here generally, but am willing to share in PMs or by phone.

Remember Ps 34:19 "Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but YHWH delivers him out of them ALL.", so ya might as well kick back with a big bowl of popcorn and enjoy the show, 'cause you KNOW it's gonna have a good ending!

So that's this month's episode. Hope you enjoyed the show and the popcorn. And pls feel free to keep the prayers rising for a new vehicle (or 3) and an adequate job. WHAT AN ADVENTURE!

Oh ... more on the vehicles ... we moved here 1 year ago with 3 working vehicles -- a work truck, a family vehicle, and a personal vehicle for me to use for work. Now need all those + a 4th, as 2 girls need to commute to college this fall.

But an interesting thing happened. One by one, each of these vehicles died, including a 4th purchased this summer, due to problems in the radiator / coolant system. No sooner did one get completely dead than another developed problems and we just couldn't get them fixed despite efforts and cash. As mentioned, the last died this last weekend.

Does this sound like a devourer at work to you?! Mal 3:10,11 promises that not only will He pour out blessings from Heaven, but will also rebuke the devourer for our sake. Can't WAIT to see how THAT works out, as I understand the thief can be required to pay back 4-fold!!! Wheee!

(No, I'm NOT as air-headed as all that sounds! Tummy does tie in knots and my body ends up vomiting! Too often! But I choose to believe the promises of God, and that He cannot and won't lie. Therefore, having the complaining wandering Israelites as a negative example, I REFUSE to complain, but rather treat it all as a grand adventure wherein God is likely to pop out any any moment yelling "Tada! Here's the supplying of your need! Cool, huh?!")

So, I should change the title of the thread to "Thanks and prayers for the coming new job!"

whew, i need more popcorn :D
we will be praying
