The Greatest Untapped Evangelistic Opportunity Before the Modern Church

Scott Brown examines the roles of fathers in modern evangelism for the church. What role do you see plural families having in this opportunity to reach this new generation?

This is the essence of Christian Patriarchy.

The Christian patriarchs first ministry is in his own home.

Jos 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Not just for his own children, but his wife/wives, grandchildren, servants, and neighbors.

Yes, share the Gospel with your kids, and keep going.

Thanks for sharing ...

This realy has lots to do with this thread doesn't it? If you do not have as much as God gives you then your opportunity to evangelize is cut short in a manner of speaking:

Re: The Greatest Untapped Evangelistic Opportunity Before th

Doc, Thanks for posting this link. I'm sorry that I am two years late reading it. Some people are "a day late and a dollar short", I'm measuring it in years and hate to even think of the dollar part. :) I agree with the authors assessment of the great opportunity in the home. One thing that he did not address is the impact of the wife/mother on that evangelism. Without her loving support and endorsement of her husband, all his teaching will sound hollow. The kids hear Mom before they ever hear Dad. In the same vein, God's glorious Gospel sounds hollow to the world if His redeemed people do not honor and glorify our Lord. Too many in the world look at Christians and say "Why would I want to be like you?" Where is the joy in our submission to Christ? Where is the joy of a wife in submission to her husband? Kids see it or the lack thereof and respond accordingly.
