Something I would like to say here as an observation is that in order for Isaiah chapter 4 to come to pass, I believe that the laws of the land will likely have to change in favor of polygyny. Here in South Africa, the man who is most likely going to be the next president, since his party currently has about 70% of the popular vote, is Jacob Zuma. I find his name to be symbolic as well. Although he seems to be a crook, the majority of the people who support him ‘love’ him. At last count, I understand that he has four wives. When I applied for residence here, one of the questions on the application was whether or not I was planning to be involved in polygamy, since it is frowned upon here. At the time I filled out the application the answer was 'no'. At that time I did not truly understand the importance of Isaiah chapter 4 in the ushering in of the return of Christ. Though I do not know what the law says here, I do know that when Melissa and I were married in 2003, I had to produce the divorce decrees from my other 2 marriages in order to get a marriage license here in South Africa. The political landscape and attitude toward polygyny over here will likely change when Zuma takes office. I am not certain how this will play out, but I believe it is the hand of God in action in preparation for the fullness of Isaiah chapter 4 coming to pass, since He is responsible for putting all political authority into place, good or bad, (Proverbs 16:4 and Romans 13:1).
Whether or not we choose to partake in the politics that govern our countries will probably be neither here nor there in the grand scheme of things, since God will see to it that His will is accomplished regardless of our individual beliefs and attitudes. I do not see where it is going against God to try to help change the political landscape in favor of the fulfillment of scripture. I do not think that we can stop it from coming, but are we willing to put our hand forth to try to help these scriptures to come to pass? Either we are with God and His plan, or we are against it. Supporting the politicians who wish to see change that will line up with the Word of God is a good thing, as I see it. Though I am not in a position to do much from here, I will be happy to sign the petition. Even ‘Caesar’ gets his marching orders from God. Either way we should not be too critical of one another, because as Lissa pointed out each person’s belief has merit.
Be blessed,
Dr. Ray
P.S, As John Hancock might say, "Where do I SIGN? "
