A while ago I realised I had done over 900 posts, and thought "I should do some ridiculously pointless announcement when I hit 1000". The next time I looked I'd posted 1091 times. So much for being observant. I suppose it looks like I've got too much time on my hands. But it doesn't feel like I've got any time on my hands! Maybe that's because I spend time on here. Clearly not sitting on my hands as they've been rather busy typing. I suppose I should now sleep as it's late at night. But instead I'm posting something entirely pointless. Oh well.

I'll just post my favourite limerick to celebrate this immensely unimportant non-occasion:

I wish that my room had a floor
I don't care so much for a door
But this walking around
Without touching the ground
Is getting to be quite a bore

Congratulations Samuel, and i appreciate your posts they are often thought-provoking, and of course quite balanced.

"My, how time flies when you are having fun!"

What surprises my is that the quiet one, ylop, is just shy of half of your posts, Samuel. His time-in-theater is greater, but it is still surprising.

Go Samuel! And thanks so much for your service here. I can't imagine a more level-headed moderator doing a better job of keeping this thing on the rails. Keep up the good work!

Always both.

Thanks for the compliments everyone! Cake soaked in cream, with ice cream, sprinkled with shaved chocolate. Are you reading this Sarah?

I actually had a few hundred posts before starting moderating. I have benefited enormously from the discussions with everyone here. This is a watering hole where many people from different backgrounds and perspectives meet, and challenge each other to dig deeper into the Scriptures in all manner of areas. And generally not by actually "challenging" each other, rather by writing things that make others think privately "hang on, I hadn't thought of that before, it has implications for this other thing, that's fascinating...". And then we can yarn in another setting. Like a retreat! See you in a few weeks!

Cake soaked in cream? O.o Is this some kind of fancy eating cake I've never heard of before?? Lol! And I totally forgot about the chocolate!!! How horrible of me to not offer veggies to go with the cake and ice cream! ;) haha..! (Because chocolate comes from cocoa, which comes from a tree. Which makes it a plant. Which makes it a salad. The end.) ;)

Liz, I love the way you think.

With that caramel dessert you like? Or should we save that for when you get to 2000 posts?

Chocolate comes from beans, totally a vegetable! Cake is made from flour (wheat, a plant!), eggs (from chickens which eat wheat/grass etc), milk (cows eat grass) and sugar (which is a plant) so essentially it's a vegetable too! I'm pretty sure we could justify anything now :-D.

Do you Americans not put cream on cake? You don't know what you're missing out on! If the cake is too dry or a few days old then you pour cream all over it in a bowl and eat it like that. I prefer custard though. I think if Samuel could live off cream he would lol.

Are we sure that we have the same definition for what is "cream"?? Lmao!!

I'm so glad we can have cake and chocolate on any diet we choose to go on. ;p hahaha!! Actually I really like the "French-Korean" cakes. It's not so sugary and has tons of real fruit, and instead of frosting it's more of a thicker whipped cream or cheese. They're super delicious!! ;) or CUPCAKES!!! I loooove cupcakes!!!! :D

No no no. Cake should not have fruit in it! Maybe Apricots, but nothing else. And definitely NO mixed peel! Ick!

Maybe this is like the difference between torch and flashlight lol! What is cream for you? For us it's what comes from a cow, from the milk. If you leave fresh milk the cream settles on the top, yum!

Well it's a different texture for the sponge in the cake as well...the fruit really compliments it very well. I'll message you a picture of it so you'll see! ;) but how about this...you try my fruity cakey thing and I'll try your cream covered cakey thing.. Lol!! ;)

And yeah I guess it's the same cream...lol I don't actually care for dairy a lot. ;p

Sounds good! You'll have to come to NZ first though, I'm totally for that!

I must say that sounds a wonderful idea, I promise to pay for an unlimited supply of cream and will generously offer my services as a taste tester.
