Doctrine: The Lord and King Jesus Christ Shall Return to Earth to Judge The World
Christianity is the most unique religion of all world religions. In our religion God came down to us through the incarnation. God reached down to us whereas in other world religions an cults man reaches up to God in their self efforts to gain their deity's favor. Eternal life is only, however, found in Christianity (John 14:6). Mormons, Muslims, Jehovah Witnesses, Judaism, New Agers, Humanists, and any other false religion or cult such as these just listed rejects the doctrine of salvation by grace through faith. Furthermore, in Christianity our Lord died and arose again. No other religion has any truth such as this. Jesus is now both Lord and King of the universe. As the Bible says of Christ, "I charge you in the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who in his testimony before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, to keep the commandment unstained and free from reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which he will display at the proper time--he who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see. To him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen" (1 Tim. 6:13-16). In the future this Lord and King shall return to this earth in which he left. As the angels told the disciples when they saw him leave this earth, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go up into heaven" (Acts 1:11). This Lord Jesus has been appointed to be the Judge over all of the earth. God has "fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man [Christ Jesus] whom he has appointed" (Acts 17:31). When this Lord returns he will defeat God's enemies (Rev. 19:11-16). Then, Christ will draw all of humanity before him and at this time he will judge them. He will open up some books and one of those will be the book of life. "The dead" at this time will be "judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done" and if "anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire" (Rev. 20:12,15). At this point all of the unbelievers are cast away, only the believers will be with God, and then eternity shall set in. The believers will dwell with Christ their Lord, they shall worship and serve and fellowship for all eternity in a perfect New Heavens and New Earth.

Life Application
Are you ready to see the Lord Jesus Christ? The Bible tells us that he is standing at the door, ready to step out to come back for us at any moment. The Bible says, "You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. Do not grumble against one another, brothers so that you may not be judged; behold the Judge is standing at the door" (James 5:8-9). How are you doing in living a gospel centered life? What drives your heart and soul? Do you seek ways to share the gospel with others? Are you seking to live a life based upon gratitude for God's grace realized through you living by faith in his Word? As a man are you more excited about seeing a soul come ot faith than anything else (that includes even over your own sexual passions)? Are you as a father, as a mother, as a family seeking to prepare yourselves to meet the King of kings face to face? The Bible tells us that we are so very close to seeing him. Paul said, "for salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed. The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off works of darkness and put on the armor of light" (Rom. 13:11-12). If the night was far gone in AD 55 or AD 56 when Paul wrote Romans how much closer are we today to the dawn of the new day of eternity when Christ returns? Therefore, keep in mind that Christ says he is "coming soon" and he "repay everyone for what he has done" for Christ is the "Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end" (Rev. 22:12-13).
