Is anyone here familiar with biblicalgenderroles.com? My husband is giving me a lot of information from this website, and I am just curious if anyone else uses it as a resource and what you think about it? Best articles to look up, etc?

Well I just read through 4 articles. I don't like it. It's far too extreme for me. Women were created differently, some want to work, and that's ok.
One of the major advantages of polygyny is that a woman can go off to work and another woman is at home with the children and making sure there's a hot meal at the end of the day.
I'm all for staying at home, but no woman is an:
...utter and colossal failures in the sight of their creator whether they realize it now or not. And one day they will stand before God ashamed of the fact that they did not fulfill the purpose for which he created them.

Woah!
Now that is super concerning!
An excerpt from the article "The production of amateur porn can actually be a ministry and be honouring to God."
In the same way we as Christians should support the production of pornographic movies that adhere to a Christian worldview of sex. That means movies that use only married actors to perform sex scenes. It also means that these movies do not have types of sexual activities that violate God’s law such as me having sex with men and orgies.

From an amateur perspective, we should encourage Christian married couples to produce nude images and images of sex acts that are within the bounds of God’s law.

I don't read him regularly and don't agree with everything on his website but it's closer to the truth than most Christian commentary and has a lot of good stuff. He affirms the Biblical authority of the husband (despite the domain sounding like yet another complementarian) and is a supporter of polygamy.

Use what is good and don't worry about the dross. If your spiritual leader finds something from there valuable enough for your instruction then embrace that; he'll filter out whatever crazy he doesn't approve of. It doesn't mean he uncritically supports everything BGR has ever said. If you read something there you're not sure about, talk to your husband about it; he'll likely welcome the discussion. No resource is 100%.

He has some things that I don't agree with. (his views on porn for instance) but a lot of his stuff is good and he is strong on patriarchy. We have discussed some of his stuff here before.

I thought so as well, went looking for discussions as those would be good articles to read; but could not find any via search.

Agreed with @Pacman and @rockfox BGR has some really good stuff in some areas, but other parts that I filter out... Chew the meat, spit out the bones.

As Rockfox says, BGR has a number of things right... certainly, much better than what the average church teaches.

I agree with others that there is a mixture of good and bad on that website. However, the bad is so problematic that I would not be recommending this site to anyone who is not already well familiar with such issues and able to be extremely discerning.

His suggestion that Christian married couples could make porn as a ministry is very concerning. I can see how someone could argue that watching porn made by unmarried people was not technically sinful, if they wanted to justify it for themselves, but lusting after a married woman is the very definition of adultery. Watching a married couple have sex, and being sexually attracted to that woman, is adulterous in my understanding. When someone makes such a clearly terrible statement it makes me highly sceptical and cautious about everything else they write, and makes me sharply notice hints of such problematic thinking in other articles that I might otherwise have overlooked. There is good in what he writes too - but as I've said elsewhere there is good even in the writings of Nietzshe, who was about the most anti-Christian writer imaginable. Many things are worth reading by a person who can apply discernment, and this website may be also. But you have to be already familiar enough with scripture to recognise and differentiate between the meat and the bones.

However, the bad is so problematic that I would not be recommending this site to anyone who is not already well familiar with such issues and able to be extremely discerning.

But that's not what's going on here. Instead her husband, whose responsibility it is to be discerning, is sending her select articles.

There is no perfect ministry, I've never seen one that didn't have something problematic.

what you think about it? Best articles to look up, etc?

My chief suggestion would be to ask your husband this question. It would be a good opportunity for spiritual discussion between the two of you. Ultimately he is your spiritual guide, not us.

It is good that you are taking initiative to explore a resource he finds valuable. But in light of things you find troubling, maybe there is a reason he's only sent you articles and not commended reading the whole thing. So talk to him about it.

But if you're just here looking for evidence to push back against your husband and refuse his spiritual direction, that's not a good path.

Its been linked here before. There are some troubling things. I was going to recommend it once, then came across the porn stuff. I just tossed it as a resource since it would be too much work to explain the troubling things to someone.

Porn should not happen at ALL. Sex in marriage is supposed to happen in private not in public. Besides it is a sin to watch porn period cause you will lust after the opposite sex if you do that. If he is promoting rape and stuff like that then he should repent of his sins if he wants to make it to heaven. I don't believe he actually wants to be there though but God did provide a way out of going to hell eternally and he probably wants to be on this earth forever or thinks he does.
