Is 'Replacement Theology' a Monogamist Heresy?

I'm amazed so many know each other so well! So much for robots!

I'll take my own advice: Dehumanizing people when I start discussing is a personal struggle. It's a lawyer thing - removing feelings/emotion so it can be all about the logic. It's not life-giving. And it's unkind. Please let me know if I ever do that.

In response to Cecil's OP, I would say this: many brides, one household. God still has only one household, but He has more than one bride, as He Himself has said. Jesus took a similar analogy when He said, "Other sheep have I, which are not of this fold. I must bring them in and there will be one fold and one Shepherd." One fold, many sheep.

So, yes, I can see Replacement Theology being monogamist at its root. Kinda like the new bride being jealous of the first one.

I don't know that I would call it quite like that. I would say monagamism is a facet of replacement theology which is a branch of anti-semitism that has been fomented by Satan as a method of trying to destroy the Jews so that the promises of God (which concern the Jews primarily) can be nullified. It also has the bonus effect of making otherwise godly men feel guilty and otherwise godly women feel betrayed over a matter that is assumed (by many) to be against God's will but is never stated as such. Monagamism is an efficient lie, but I don't think it is the root cause of replacement theology so much as yet another strand in a massive web of evil doctrine.

Had an interesting thought. Such a bizarre happening of late, I figgered to share it.

Your thought was well stated and spot on in my understanding. This isn't the only comparison in the Bible between the Christ/church covenant and a polygamous marriage either. There is plenty of biblical support for this.

This is exactly why Christians of Gentile descent are not required to follow the entire law of Moses. Israel is a branch of the vine. Christ is the vine. Christians of Gentile descent are grafted into the vine not the branch.

I really appreciate FollowingHim pointing out that the heretics are our brothers.
I see all believers coming to the truth, from differing backgrounds, and views.

I see no scriptural basis for believing there are two standards, one for the Israelites, and another for non Israelite "gentiles."
Paul wrote that the old covenant was passing away, and that the law was a schoolmaster to bring us to Christ. God specified that there was to be one law, for Israel, and the strangers that lived among them.

One interesting fact we came across in study, is that gentile does NOT mean non Israelite. I say fact, because it is easily proven from the Bible alone.
I don't want to derail this thread, but am happy to provide references for anyone interested, or will participate on another thread, should anyone wish to discuss this further on the board.

The implications are huge! But this, at least in the past, has been a very unpopular subject.
