John MacArthur joins with David Jeremiah, Charles Stanley, David Hocking, Ed Young and Jack Graham in stating that polygyny is sin.

More recently, John MacArthur referred to polygamy as an "iniquity". No matter how one feels about the overall character or theology of Luther or Calvin, the inescapable truth is that, as far as their stances on polygyny are concerned, both could not be right.

“So, we don't want to conclude that because David committed adultery with a whole bunch of women, that adulterers get blessed. We want to conclude that in spite of that, God was gracious to him, and there were periods in his life, and times in his life when he was obedient to God, and God blessed him for those times, and God was patient in the other times.”

Morse said: “Not only for healthcare providers with religious commitments but also for patients who desire treatment from those who share their commitments and values. Schools, including private and religious ones, will also be within the target zone in terms of accommodations based on gender. Clashes between the coercive power of government that prefers other interest groups over the interests of religious citizens will be inevitable.”

Edward A. Morse, who sits on the board of directors of the Thomas More Society and teaches law at Creighton University, told the Times in an email.

(Worthy News) –The Open Doors persecution watchdog has published its 2021 list of countries where it is most dangerous for Christians to practice their faith, Christianity Today reports. Published this month, the list is based on grassroots reports from Open Door workers between November 1, 2019, and October 31, 2020.

The 2021 Open Doors report lists, in descending order, the following countries as the top 10 offenders: North Korea, Afghanistan, Somalia, Libya, Pakistan, Eritrea, Yemen, Iran, Nigeria, and India. While Nigeria made the top 10 for the first time this year, the country with Africa’s largest Christian population actually ranks no.1 for the number of Christians who are murdered for their faith.

Notably, Sudan is not in the top 10 this year, after it abolished the death penalty for apostasy and claimed its new government is committed to freedom of religion, Christianity Today reports. Nevertheless, Sudan is not far behind at no. 13 on the list: Open Doors said Sudanese Christians from Muslim backgrounds have been attacked by their families and communities, and Christian women are subject to sexual violence.

Christianity Today reports that among the 50 countries on the list, “19 are in Africa (6 in North Africa), 14 are in Asia, 10 are in the Middle East, 5 are in Central Asia, and 2 are in Latin America.” Moreover, “34 have Islam as the main religion, 4 have Buddhism, 2 have Hinduism, 1 has atheism, 1 has agnosticism—and 10 have Christianity.”

Four new countries were added to the list of 50: Mexico (No. 37), Democratic Republic of Congo (No. 40), Mozambique (No. 45), and Comoros (No. 50).

THE WORD ON SUFFERING WHICH PROVES WE ARE OF CHRIST !

***1 Peter 2:19 For it is commendable if someone endures pain, suffering unjustly, because of conscience toward God. 20 For what glory is it if, when you sin, you patiently endure beating? But if, when you do well, you patiently endure suffering, this is commendable with God. 21 For you were called to this, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you should follow in His step

***1 Peter 3:14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “Don’t fear what they fear, neither be troubled.”Isaiah 8:12 15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts. Always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with humility and fear, . . 17 For it is better, if it is God’s will, that you suffer for doing well than for doing evil. 18 Because Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring you to God, being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the Spirit, . . .4:1 Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind; for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, . . . 12 Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; 13 But because you are partakers of Christ’s sufferings, rejoice, that at the revelation of his glory you also may rejoice with exceeding joy. . . 16 But if one of you suffers for being a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God in this matter. . . . 19 Therefore let them also who suffer according to the will of God in doing good entrust their souls to him, as to a faithful Creator. . . . 5:8 Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Withstand him steadfast in your faith, knowing that your brothers who are in the world are undergoing the same sufferings. 10 But may the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.

If anybody discerning had been in his congregation, they would have called him out on a bold faced lie that everyone who had multiple wives, had problems, and would have also pointed out that many who had only one wife or zero wives, had problems as well. I've been reading the book of Ezekiel, and I came across the verse where he talks about his wife dying, and he was told that he was not allowed to mourn. I can't imagine what that must have been like for him.
