Polygamy without patriarchy is polyamory with a preference.

Essentially polygamy (polygyny) doesn't function well without patriarchy.

In my experience, no relationship functions well without a structure of defined headship. This applies to romantic, religious and business relationships. God designed us with this blueprint built into us, whether we personally know Him or not. Any time we try to operate outside of that blueprint things get messy fast....too many chefs ruin the soup, so to speak.
