Conspiracies are not theory, they are fact, with many documented right in the Bible.
To believe that the nature of men in government has changed, is to deceive yourself.

Saying that bank robberies happen is stating a fact. Likewise saying that conspiracies happen is stating a fact.

Looking at one individual person and saying "you're a bank robber" requires evidence. That's not a fact until it's proven. Until it is proven it is just an accusation.

Once again, it is the same for conspiracy theories. Singling out one person, such as Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and saying that he was involved in a conspiracy requires evidence and people are innocent until proven guilty.

In the case of Woodrow Wilson (WWI) and FDR (WWII) that proof does not exist.

What about this one? "Iraq has weapons of mass destruction?".

Although they didn't, the funny thing is, so what if they did?

Does that give the USA the right to invade and destroy that country?

Of course not.

But it seems that "manifest destiny" is still a strong belief, even in this forum.

I think we all know how to spell the word "assume". That little meme is never truer than when assuming the motives of others.

Probably time to just back away slowly.
Fully agree.

This is a very legitimate discussion. Both sides make very good points, and have reasons for what they believe. War is so ridiculously complex and messy that any discussion of it will be just as messy.

But it's completely off-topic for the forum, and is liable to upset people in ways that will damage our fellowship rather than improve it. This is clearly something that Ylop is passionate about, and there will be others who share his views. On the other hand we've also got no shortage of ex-American-servicemen here for whom this discussion will be particularly close to home, many of whom will be even more passionate in the opposite direction. And a forum like this is a terrible place to debate such matters because it's so easy to offend each other even worse when typing messages without body language. I can't see this ending well.

If anyone wants to continue this discussion, please do so somewhere else.

If anyone's bored now that this discussion is over, and wants to read something related, feel free to head over here (you might recognise someone on the cover...):
