Acts 7:38 Is on place that translators expose their bias. Ekklesia is known to refer to the qahal, congregation, in the wilderness. Many translations expose their bias against one body/congregation by translating as 'congregation' here while almost universally translating other instances, about 75/6 more as 'church.'

@Kevin , I have to poke you here for including St Patrick with Christmas, Easter et al. Research demonstrates that the real St Patrick was a Sabbath keeping, feast observing Torah teaching missionary whose legacy was co-opted by the RCC some 150 or 200 years after his death....

Yeah, but people aren't celebrating him as a Torah keeper, their celebrating him as a saint who performed miracles one of which was banishing all snakes out of Ireland. The Holiday is now just an excuse to get plastered and wrapped up in pseudo theo-mythological nonsense. I'm not contesting the other miricales. It's a shame most folks don't know the struggle he went through. Because he refused to take gifts from the kings of Ireland he was with out the protection of kinship. He was robbed, beaten, yet still pressed on spreading the Gospel.

Its kinda sad when the way someone is remembered or memorialized contradicts their life message.
My son recently shared a statistic (Don't know where he got it) if everyone, every year spent their money on feeding the hungry rather then buying any Christmas gifts, there would be ZERO hungry people in the world. In as much as he have done it, (or not ) to the least if these....
Buying the latest whatever seems like a lousy way to celebrate the life of YHWH's son. IMHO

I've seen that. Basically everyone in the USA spends enough extra for Christmas to feed everyone in the world for a year. Imagine what the whole world spends and what we could do with that money.

Ditto that, as we have not celebrated Christmas for about 20 years. We sing carols about the night Yeshua/Jesus was born all year, whenever we feel like it, but Dec 25th came and went one year, and it didn't even register until later that we 'missed' it.
We don't even do presents much for birthdays, or other holidays.

We have started getting out town during this time to leave the nonsense behind. Need some extra help around the plantation in December?

December is usually really slow for work, and so when the weather allows we can do projects outside. It is not as pretty up here then as everything is dormant. It can also be cold, but then we always have a warm house.
Depending on what we get done over the summer, help might be very appreciated.

Visiting with good folks like your family is the kind of treat that could make me think up projects we need help with.
