True or false: single women are either arrogant and prideful or needy with baggage

A lot of women do what they think is good and look where that has gotten most of them, not all. Some do pick what looks to be good men, but after the ceremony, they realize he put on a good show. Our daughter picked a "good man" and I did the best I could because this was my first rodeo. She shared with me 8 years later while they were going through their separation/divorce that he had a porn addiction and she thought that would change after they got married and I was completely unaware of it.
Bigger reason for divorce is more her reaction to his pornography habbits than pornography itself. Probably many feelings of being not enough.

Anyway, addiction can't be stopped just by decision. This is why they are addictions. Number one characheristic of addiction is body punishing addictor on purpose in order to continue addiction.

First, 55 year woman isn't considered wife according to him. But key reason she is in family is providing children experience for wives (she has children). And, as polygamist says, it would be (genetic) suicide having relationship with such old woman. Only polygyny allows her to be part of family.
Not all men want more children. I’m 52 and all my children are grown and I have two grandchildren. I wasn’t necessarily looking for more children. My second is in her 50s and can’t have any. My motivation was to help a woman in need, not for more children.

Who is negotiating. It’s called listening to your wives. Sometimes I do things to make them happy if they are not wrong. I’m not negotiating anything. My main point is that I tell them not to ever say “I will not”. That is for me to decide.
Pretty much agree

I have a thing for smart women. And my wives have each been really sharp.
Before things went cattywumpas with one, I rarely had to give more than guidelines. Most of the time not even that as we are working towards the same goal.

Personally, I never want to have to give an order.

Prefer nudge nudge, hint or leading question.
Presuming of course that they had not come to the same conclusion already

Very glad and gratified that you and and guys like you are out there swinging for the fences.
Very much good on you.

I am wanting more kids of my own however.
Other kids would be more dependent upon the situation honestly but boy do I want more of my own.

Everyone wants to be treated kindly. I try to put it as “would you please do x for me” even if it is an “order”

Agree.
Kindness is key.
Other side though is the willingness to talk it through and understand the respective points of view and the capital W Why they have come to their conclusions about what is the correct practices and the direction the family is going...not to mention the desire for all parties to work hand in glove.

Good author to quote
He is how I found the concept of polygamy in fact, when I was about 9 in Moon is a Harsh Mistress.
Happily, I always thought he was a bit of a chucklehead on the concepts of line marriage and group marriage and did not buy into those notions at all.

Likewise, I grew up with RAH, and Moon was probably his finest work, in many respects.

He was, in fact an interesting and enigmatic character (I read everything he ever wrote, eventually.)

He was obviously quite Scripturally-literate, and used not only frequent Biblical references in plots*, even titles, but also quite a few themes and lessons. Yet, he was (at best) somewhat of an agnostic, overall.

And any of us who managed to get here ultimately saw through some of his flakiness on sexuality.

Still, there is a surprisingly good amount of 'marriage advice' in the Notebooks of Lazarus Long (from which, for other readers, the above quote arises.)

* Stranger in a Strange Land, Job, notably, among quite a few. Even the Lazarus Long concept that permeated entire series. Nehemiah Scudder a notable 'counter-example.'

What is strange when young men don't like single moms? Only issue is inability of forum to put themselves in their shoes.

Most people believe in monogamy-only. So young man needs to select best one partner for himself. And virgin is better choice than single mom. Younger and without baggage (other man's children and free of issue of children's father returning).
We’re not talking about monogamy here.🤦‍♀️

Very much on the same page. So was my dad in fact, to such an extent that I was named for a Heinlein character.

Hmm. The mind boggles...wonder if I could guess in three tries or less?
Likely yes.
Though honestly a bit disappointed I did not end up as a Jubal or Lazarus
