Unreasonable Joy?

I grew up with this vague undefined feeling that our emotional default feeling was neutral, a lack of any emotion. That if we were to be happy we had to have reasons for being happy.
As Christians we have plenty of reasons to be happy, but we had to access, or think about, those things to become happy.

Now I am coming to realize that our default position emotionally is joy. That we are wired for joy. That YHWH created us filled with joy.
We allow the negative to steal our joy. It is not about finding and embracing the joy as much as it is about shedding the negative. The joy will bubble up when given the chance.

I need no reason to be joyful, that is what makes it unreasonable. ;)

Thankyou Steve, you are quite correct. Thanks for pointing it out. Now I just have to live it! :)
