Is the story of Job a one-off?
Did Satan quit testing people after he failed with Job?
Does Satan have the same ability to test us in the NT Age?
Was Satan defeated at the cross?
Can he be defeated by simply taking authority over him?

Where does your theology land on this issue?

Yes, once Job died the story is over.

No, he tested Jesus three times.

It would seem so. 1 Peter 5:8-9 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.

On the Bible. ;)

I agree with Fredrick. Although, Job's story should stand as a testament to us today. Spiritual warfare is played out in our lives in the physical. We may lose our cows, goats and our health. This does not automatically mean that we are bad managers or forgetting our skin care. Sometimes, it is just spiritual warfare. So, what is the takeaway???

Never give up on God and never stop doing what is right in his eyes, no matter how bad life gets.

I’m sorry if my question wasn’t clear enough.
Job lost all of his children, was destroyed financially and was made physically miserable with boils in order to make him give up his faith in Yah.
Has anyone since then been tested on any level that approaches his?

All the disciples of Christ save one. Foxe's Book of Martyrs documents some serious persecution....

I have my own stories.... It culminated in my full faith in him! I began to truly live for him. Studying the bible with understanding and walking it out fully. Then my financial trials began, slowly at first until suddenly I ran out of options. I had kept the faith through it all. By this time though, I was reminding God about Job. I threw all the responsibility onto God to take care of me and without any dramatic anything, I was taken care of. Then the next month went by and the same thing... Bizarre things were happening weekly. Bank error in my favor from decades earlier kinda weird stuff.... But after two months I caught on... God has all the resources in the whole world at his disposal. He can direct them to or away from whomever he chooses. I was his child and he would provide and care for me so long as I showed up willing to do what I can with a right attitude.

Eyes opened, I began to thank him for his blessings and suddenly, steady work showed up and I live to testify to his greatness to this day!!! Yah is good!

Same here. The thing that has always saddened me is that it was religious people (can't even bring myself to call them Christians) who were used by the enemy to cause the most problems. Like you, MitM, persevering through the trials has brought me to a better situation than I could have imagined. All praise and thanks to Him.
