Happy 250th Independence Day, my fellow Americans. My wife and I are hosting a big community day of prayer and worship in two weeks on July 18th, with live music, pastors from a bunch of churches, some Torah-observant home church representation, and Messianic dancing.

Pray for us. We have a lot of people up here out to "get" me right now so I'm considering this a public declaration of Holy War because I'm not going to be canceled.

I think "swinger" is the first thought people have. Our culture is really living in Canaan and doing what the Canaanites did although with a lot of Rome thrown in for good measure.
I have experienced it a fair amount. emma-stone-yuck-sekrkvprfvpbs8qk.gif

2025. Devolution is decentralization of political power which is not something commies do.
I have to disagree with you here. Devolution is something that communists did. It was their main strategy for fracturing opposing power bases.

The soviets were expressly pitched as devolving power down to the most basic levels. There were soviets at the factory and even smaller levels.

There were soviets of every possible sub csegory of people and man of them over lapping and competing. This was very much a feature and not of bug if early communism.

Sigh.

Well, soon enough Russia will lose this last war they started and perhaps peace can happen after that.
What is mostly likely to happen is Russia seiz8ng rest of Donbass.

Typical Ukraine propaganda is small ops to create some impression they are winning and Russia will die...soon. Timeline is always soon.

No reason to believe them.

Hard to do that without fuel, trucks, bridges, airplanes, helicopters, or ferries. At this point the war has now come home to Russia and both Moscow and St. Petersburg are slowly returning to the 19th Century.

During Operation Storm one artillery grenade had fallen into Serbian capital Knin creating smoke column. Then Serbs filmed that smoke column from all possible sides in order to create perception whole Knin has razed to ground.

Hear Ukrainians like to "paint" drones with petrol, so that each hit creates better smoke column. So few hits implies whole city burning which few drones can't do.

Both sides are lying. It’s just a matter of which side can shovel the most manure and sell it to their backers as success.

Firehose of falsehood is a modern propaganda technique characterized by a relentless, high-volume stream of rapid and repetitive messaging across multiple channels. Coined by the RAND Corporation in 2016, this strategy prioritizes speed, quantity, and sheer volume over objective truth. [1, 2]
Key characteristics of this model include:
  • High Volume and Multichannel: Information is blasted continuously across social media, state media, forums, and encrypted apps. [1, 2, 3]
    • No Commitment to Consistency: Propagandists will readily contradict themselves, spread partial truths, or invent outright fictions if it serves a short-term narrative. [1, 2]
    • Lack of Commitment to Reality: The goal is not to convince the audience that a specific lie is true, but to overwhelm them with so much noise that they become disoriented and skeptical that any objective truth exists. [1, 2]

Why It Works
  • Information Overload: Constantly being bombarded forces individuals to rely on mental shortcuts (heuristics) to process news. When people see a claim repeated across many platforms, they often mistake volume for validity. [1, 2, 3]
  • Apathy and Cynicism: By flooding the information ecosystem with conflicting claims, the tactic causes the audience to tune out and give up on finding the truth, making democratic debate more difficult.

Both Iran and the US used this at the outset of the recent events.

I was unaware that Serbia was at war with Russia.

Painting a drone with petrol and then flying it 1000km would absolutely cause the petrol to completely evaporate long before the drone ever hit the target. It's also very likely to cause the drone to burst into flame on launch because the Ukrainians tend to use rockets for launching their long range drones.

IOW this is stupid Russian propaganda. Not just regular propaganda, but stupid propaganda. But likely effective for the general Russian populace given how mentally dull most of them are.

Upppssss. @MeganC as probably greatest researcher here, I wasn't expecting you to be too lazy to spend 5 second to find truth.

I don't know. Point is that looking damaged isn't same doing real damage.

Drone hitting tank with penetrating or disabling something just looks impressive.

What Serbia did is of no consequence to what is happening in Ukraine/Russia. Serbian actions do not prove or disprove anyone else's actions.

The queues for petrol in Russia and Crimea are the proof. Putin's recent speech which mentioned the petrol shortages is as good a confirmation as anyone would require.

But they prove existence of information war.

Remember conversation about "Bucha massacre"? Shaping public opinion is often key consideration, if for only reason that ruling class whose public opinion is against them can't survive in long run.

Remember covid show? We must assume we aren't under influence or even worse, resistant to influence.

And Russia would simply buy petrol from India.
