Comprehensive Examination of Plural Marriage. Something I’ve been working on for a while now to help society better understand

Can I sign up for the 100 level class "Smartassery Basics"?
Hey, if there is a school, I could definitely use some refinement
But alas, you just have to offend people until you get the results that you are looking for.

Co-creation and bearing the child is a beautiful thing but I press the issue of the "sacredness" of marriage as a religious construct. I don't find that a man and woman is any more righteous as "married" versus a jon and his prostitute. BOTH of them can become "one" in act or in creation of new life.
I do however think that when the two come together, it can be wonderful occasion provided all the elements as far as we understand (the state, contracts, permissions, paperwork etc. Or not!) are honored. The feeling of permanence is an important part for most women's security and "ownership" or "stewardship" or "patriarchy" for a man.
Genesis 2:24: Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

Ephesians 5 30-32: because we are members of his body. “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church.

1 Corinthians 6:15-17: Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? Never! Or do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For, as it is written, “The two will become one flesh.” But he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with him.

The Bible is extremely clear that the marriage/one flesh relationship is sacred in part because it is a analogy of christ and tge church. There are a plethora of verses to support this notion, and it is even more clear about what sexual immorality is- and sex with prostitutes is called out many times as sin/immoral.

To equate the sanctity of the one flesh union between biblically lawful marriage and that of a jon and prostitute is the disregard pretty much the entire bible.

I would posit that the idea of the sacredness of marriage has to do with the differentiation between civil unions and the “oneness” of a covenant between two people and the Almighty.
A marriage is pretty much the most important agreement that we make in life, outside of our salvation.
It’s not exactly a religious observance, but it’s closer than anything else that exists.

Ah, but if this other woman calls herself the man's mistress then society says, "Okay."

They do not object to the sexual relationship, they object to the commitment.
This is a fact. My sisterwife's family would have been fine with her sleeping with her boss....especially if she got compensation for it, but calling it marriage made it oppression in their eyes and a "big mistake" they thought she would later regret. After seeing our grown sons work ethic, manners, and commitment to helping others as volunteer fire fighters, there has been a change of heart. Of course seeing them treat their very young half siblings with love and respect helps too. The fact that we still have friends that support us...and treat us normal doesnt hurt. Its probably even better that those friends are not religious as in not "programed" to believe this way.
It is definitely an uphill battle and the character assassination is real and extremely prevalent. ...but the back stabbing, and slander says more about those church goers than it does us.

A secular contract involving the state looks fairly unholy to me. The same state that says two men can marry, and that babies can be murdered in the womb? The same state that restricts prayer in schools? I don't want anything to do with that! The state as a third party to my marriage is as gross to me as including a satanist as a sisterwife. I'll pass. On the other hand, like minded people with a desire to raise children in the fear and admonition of YHWH coning together in "holy matrimony" (set apart mother making) is just a larger holy alliance. It is the same substance, the same goal, in the same family structure. It just provokes those who believe God's athority goes God, parents, children. It brings home the natural order that gives men authority in their homes....it also adds another in that very important place in the home. Job share sounds cold. Another warm feminine presence is so much more!
I saw a fb comment where a guy said "At least then the wife has someone to help her, they both know the husband won't" but why should a man have to do his job, then come home and help her do hers? Women have different perception and abilities that make them far better equipped to manage the varied details of a household.
If women could just get over seeing the "other women" as a threat....they could appreciate the help AND companionship.

So true.

Out there in the big-wide-world women want men to do their jobs in the home, but men are also wanting women to do their jobs. The system is screwed because people refuse to accept God knows what is the best work environment for His creatures.
