I had lunch, a strenuous walk, and a great talk with one of the pastors of a local Baptist church here. That is where we have been attending and they have asked me to lead a small group, preach the Gospel at a weekly outreach, and even sing a solo (Haven't done that in YEARS!!)
I emailed the pastor (upon his request) my letter to the brothers who lead churches where we have served in itinerant work. This was his response, which is so far the best.
Thanks for your email brother and for your well thought out explanation. You
stated your position well and I do not see you advocating anything that
violates Scripture. It seems in this highly charged day in which we live
where everything is being redefined, perhaps they fear that you would
advocate this in the assembly. I caught heat one time in our church in
Germany for saying that Rahab and the Jewish midwives under Pharaoh broke a
lower norm (lying to enemies) to obey a higher norm (protecting lives from
murder). One visiting couple thought I was advocating lying and they were
hot under the collar over it. We will keep you all in prayer for guidance
and direction for the future. In Christ, Jon
