The conference was awesome!
We started out for the conference, all three of us: Ron, Jan, and myself, in our small old RV. We covered ourselves and the RV with prayers for protection and safety. We had checked everything we could on the vehicle and repaired or replaced whatever was needed and it was in great shape for a long trip. So we did not expect any problems on our way. Wrong! We broke down on the interstate twice, and had to wait for parts and discovered that the mechanic had not put in the new parts in the engine (spark plugs, alternator, hoses, etc.). But each time we broke down there was protection and people were so special in helping us, fixing what was wrong, and only charging us for parts. (That was God working!)
I knew the conference would be magnificent and special because we had so many problems trying to get there. Each time something went wrong, we just praised God and thanked Him for His protection throughout the trip. And every time we were challenged, we kept our cool and laughed about the exciting trip we were on. It was wonderful to get there and start enjoying the people, renewing friendships and acquiring new friends.
The conference was glorious and a blessing to all who attended. We were praising God for His mighty moving of the Holy Spirit on Sat. night and Sun. morning. People were blessed, saved, filled with the Spirit, and overall, just blown away by the love shown in others through the moving of the Holy Spirit across the assembly.
This conference was different from all the others. There was a bonding going on between people, a freedom to discuss the experiences that we all had in this lifestyle, and a sharing spirit binding people together in a fellowship of love. There was excitement in the air and in all of us. We left knowing we were not alone. Knowing that God would be with each of us, we could count on others to keep us in their prayers and stand with us against the foe (life’s problems and challenges). We know that this conference changed many lives, especially ours!
Praise the Lord!

Our adventures did not end when the conference was over. On our way to check out Black Bear Cove camp grounds and wonderful hotel for future conferences (we, as a group, have outgrown the usual campgrounds of our previous conferences), we ran off the steep road and almost over into a ravine at 1:00 AM. We did not panic but crawled out through the front of the vehicle and went to get help. It was pitch black with no lights, so when we saw lights, we climbed through the undergrowth and found a home with cars in front of it. We figured that since it was so late, we would wait for morning to get help. Sitting at the foot of the stairs, Jan and I started praising the Lord for His protection (we weren’t hurt and the RV was perched on the edge of the ravine, not in it!). Jan noticed that there were chairs on the landing above us, so we went up the stairs and tried to get warm sitting in those chairs. After trying to get signal for our phones, to no avail, Ron came up and we discussed waking the owners up. Were ready to do so when a car showed up and 2 men climbed out with guns in their hands. They wanted to know what was going on, we explained, and then they told us the lady who lived there was terrified, and sat with a shotgun pointed at the door. They explained the situation, and one took us to his home. The other went with Ron and pulled the RV up and we went on our way.
At the resort, we stayed in a wonderful room for two days while Ron ministered to the men operating the site. (When we were home the man called Ron and decided to have a covenant marriage with his girlfriend and we may see them in the next conference in TN.) From there we went to MO to meet with Marty (old friend of ours) and his new wife Mercy (new from the Philippines). At the campsite, we broke down again, Marty helped replace a fuel filter and pump (he did all the work
). We had a wonderful time, and really were able to minister to both, bringing the Lord alive to them. We hated to leave, but had to go.
We then went on our way to visit a new couple to our fellowship. We stopped at a gas station, and when we came back to the RV, the door to the back of the RV broke in my hands. We spent an hour trying to get that door open as now the only way in to the RV was through the seats in front.
While doing all of this (banging, twisting, pulling on the door to no avail), we had to laugh. Every time that we were on our way to visit someone, the enemy tried to waylay us. Then Ron noticed a huge leak of fuel under the RV. (Something great was going to happen else we would not keep breaking down!) We then went to get help at an Auto Zone, and a salesman replaced the new fuel filter (it was faulty) at no charge.
(Again, God rescued us)
I climbed into the back (no small task!), and we took off again. We met with a new couple to our group in Nebraska, stayed in our RV two days, and then, God again
, we found an RV center and went to look for a new handle and lock for the RV. Turned out no one even manufactured the part needed for our door. However, the owner remembered a part he had ordered for a customer 5 years ago who never picked it up. It was just what we needed (God did it again!!!
).
In Idaho, we met up with the Cooks and had a wonderful time renewing our friendship and love. We were able to minister again.
We went on our way home with no problem
