Couple from the Pacific Northwest Introduction

Hello everyone,

My name is Ken, and I’m grateful to be here and to introduce myself properly. I grew up in the Lutheran Church LCMS, which gave me a strong foundation in Scripture, reverence for Christ, and respect for covenant, order, and responsibility within the family. Those roots continue to shape how I approach faith today.

My wife and I are currently in a season of deeper study and reflection, focusing particularly on the Old Testament, the historical and cultural context of Scripture, and how faithful families sought to live obediently before God throughout biblical history. We are here primarily to learn both theologically and practically and to grow in wisdom through discussion and fellowship with others who take Scripture seriously.

As part of our study, we have been carefully exploring biblical perspectives on marriage, family structure, and covenant living. We approach these topics prayerfully and thoughtfully, with an emphasis on responsibility, mutual consent, provision, and accountability before God. We are not here with conclusions or agendas, but with genuine questions and a desire to better understand what Scripture teaches when read in its fuller context.

We have also become increasingly interested in learning from Messianic Jewish and Torah-observant perspectives, especially where they provide historical insight into Scripture, covenant, and everyday faithfulness. We would sincerely appreciate thoughtful discussion, shared experiences, or recommended resources from those who have studied or lived within these frameworks.

Our intent in being here is fellowship and learning not advertising or seeking arrangements though we are looking possibly for another spouse when the time is right, though that's not the point of this post, and we look forward to participating in discussions, reading past threads, and getting to know others in the community as brothers and sisters in Christ.

My wife is adding her own thoughts in a reply below in just a bit she is making a account. Thank you for welcoming us, and we look forward to learning alongside you.

Shalom and welcome.

I’ve known a few Missouri Synod folks over the years. Good people with a great respect for the scriptures.

Welcome!

Greetings and welcome to Biblical Families. That's a great introduction and background detail for us to get a handle on your situation. Thank you. Enjoy the community.

Welcome, and blessings and shalom, from one such who has been teaching Torah for two decades, and been blessed in marriages, plural, for a total of over 60 years worth of experience now.

Welcome! Thank you for the good introduction. May you find some good things here.

Welcome!
I look forward to your wife's post and hearing more from both of you.
